I spent over $100 dollars for tamales from this place a few years back, they were absolutely gross! So I thought I would give them another try, nope still the same, my boyfriend’s carnitas plate tasted like the refrigerator. I do not recommended this place!!!

Best menudo as well as food in town. Love going here every weekend. There is a family feel as well as a sense of warmth and compassion with the service and food.

I've been a customer since my high school days and coming even after 10+ years, the burritos never change. I love this place because of the nostalgia but also how it's basically a small family business working thru each day. I usually get the asada burrito because I feel like the mix of salsa and carne marinade is perfect. The asada is flavorful without the lime being overpowering and I like how there are chewy pieces in the asada (tendon?) that distinguish it from the normal asada meat. It gives good texture and taste into the burrito. The next time I go there, I may ask if I can get extra onions and cilantro but overall the burrito is solid. It never fails to satisfy my burrito craving. Definitely a staple place that I'll always return to.

Literally was closed at 3:40 pm, like ridiculous service. I would not come here if I was you.

This is not the kind of mom and pop place where you can get a late night craving satisfied. Why? Because they don't stay open thaaaat late! They basically have office hours so you need to get there before dark! I drive by this place on my way to work every day and I didn't think twice about eating here because they never looked open. Second, it's a Mexican restaurant located in such a random place- I just assumed (ass-u-me) that they would wouldn't be any good. Ok now you know how judgmental I am, I'll tell you why I went to get food here ... and I'll tell YOU why you should too!My co worker had tamales that were stuffed! I mean stuffed! And moist, not wet, but not dry like other tamales I've had. So I had to go try. I tried the beef, pork and chicken and I got an adobada (marinated & shredded pork) burrito. All of the tamales were full of flavor and full of contents! The burrito was spicy, tasty and filling. You should eat here because the food is delicious! I've found my new go to Mexican "fast food mom and pop" place to eat at before 5pm.

We have been coming here for decades. My mother only used the Tamale masa from Sonora and of course they always came out delicious so in family tradition, I only use Sonora Masa and now passed it down to my Daughter and Granddaughters. Never disappoints. Thank you

It's really hard to find authentic Mexican food in Cerritos and Artesia so the answer to that is Sonora Mexican food it's delicious and the food is quality and cooked to order so if you live in the area and like Mexican food this is the place to go. Don't let the old building fool you!
