Cielo - Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar

From the moment we walked in, the ambiance set the tone: modern, stylish, and inviting. The booth seating was super comfortable, the lighting was warm and elegant, and every detail in the décor felt carefully thought out.

We were lucky to have Kristina as our server, she was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made us feel truly welcomed throughout the evening. Her recommendations were spot-on!

The food? Absolutely phenomenal. We started with the burrata and beet appetiser fresh, vibrant, and beautifully plated with toasted bread and balsamic glaze. The charred broccolini with parmesan was simple yet delicious, and the seasonal salad with goat cheese, apples, and pistachios was refreshing and perfectly balanced.

For mains, we tried several pastas and every single one was a standout. The lemony mushroom linguine was delicate, flavorful, and bright. The chicken Alfredo was rich and creamy without being overwhelming, and the radiatori with red sauce and cheese had amazing texture and flavor. But the star for us was the pistachio gnocchi with burrata absolutely heavenly!

We also shared a Margherita pizza fresh out of the wood-fired oven, crisp crust, melty cheese, fresh basil… just perfect. Drinks were well crafted, with balanced flavors and beautiful presentation.

From food to service to atmosphere, Cielo delivered a 10/10 experience. We’re already looking forward to coming back and checking out the rooftop bar next time. This place is a true gem, highly recommend!

We recently hosted a private party on the rooftop bar at Cielo in Atascadero, and I cannot say enough about how incredible the experience was, thanks to Ben, the manager. From the very beginning, Ben went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. For an entire month leading up to the event, he was in constant communication with me, promptly answering all my questions and handling every detail with professionalism and care.

On the day of the event, Ben truly worked tirelessly to make sure everything ran smoothly. He was attentive, organized, and genuinely invested in making our celebration special. The staff was phenomenal- friendly, efficient, and accommodating. The bartenders were outstanding and kept the drinks flowing with a smile.

Thanks to Ben and his amazing team, our party was a huge success. We will absolutely be booking future events at the rooftop bar with Ben at the helm. The evening simply wouldn’t have been the same without his dedication and hard work. Thank you so much, Ben and the entire Cielo team!

Had a wonderful birthday dinner for my girlfriend here. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. We weren't expecting a 2.99% processing fee and a $2.00 salad split fee (nor was it asked if we wanted it split), but overall a really great experience. Definitely going back!

2nd time eating at this restaurant. Generous serving sizes, the food was just ok. We had the meatballs, spaghetti with meatballs, and spaghetti with shrimp. Enjoyed the cocktails - margarita and pampaloma.

Hostess was nice. She did acknowledged it was our 29th wedding anniversary, although, it was not passed to our server. When I reserved the table, it asked if this reservation was a special occasion, which I did. I wish my 29th wedding anniversary for my wife and I was mentioned by the server. As for the meals, the Salmon Special was excellent. It was cooked very well. Potatoes were smooth and creamy. Vegetable was delicious. The Chicken Parm was very good. Chicken was moist. Noodles were al dente. The sauce was good although there was a bit too much sauce on the plate. As for the server, Desi was polite and responsive to our table.

Overpriced and food was not good. Tried emailing but didn’t receive a reply. Very disappointed. Noodles were pasty and dish was soupy, Filet Mignon was salty and overdone, dessert was dry.

Excellent food and dining. Would highly recommend. The roof top bar is great place to start the evening but recommend staff at the roof top bar let those who have reservations for dinner downstairs know that they have to finish their drinks at the rooftop bar, and unable to take downstairs to the restaurant. We left drinks half full as our table became available. Also, the restaurant needs to have Cabernet Sauvignon choices available by the glass. Currently just available by bottles only. The food is excellent as well as ambience. Parking available without having to pay, so nice.

Do not order the Barrta cloud if you don’t like beets! It is basically a pile of 100% beets… didn’t have any tomatoes and is not as advertised on the menu. Service and atmosphere was excellent, the pasta was very over cooked and mushy, but the sauces for the pasta were great.

This past Saturday, my extended family was able to celebrate my daughter's graduation from CalPoly- and Cielo was the perfect choice for our large party! First of all, party of 14, Saturday evening 8pm, I had no problem making a reservation on OpenTable; in fact the restaurant was not only accommodating, but communicative with questions I posed (from afar). After arriving, we were welcomed and seated promptly in the main dining room. The interior is well appointed, with beautiful high ceilings, and has a wonderful bar to the left of the hostess stand. Drink and hors d'oeuvres orders were taken post haste! Btw, the artichoke dip is as good if not better than other reviewers have said- just order it! Dinner never felt rushed, conversation, drinks and wine were flowing (I enjoyed the ring my bell, and my wife really enjoyed their spin on the manhattan). All parties enjoyed their meal, and when my father expected more meat in his bolognese, the staff was again accommodating to his request! My wife and I split the carpaccio (yum!) and the lobster risotto, which was fantastic. Staff helped us take a large group photo, and even allowed us to bring in a special "grad" cake. All in all, I would most definitely recommend Cielo for a wonderful dining experience. This is exactly what Atascadero needs more of- good food and service! Thank you Cielo for making this evening special for my family.

Another excellent visit to Cielo. The food, service (Thanks again Clare !) and ambiance was first rate. We experienced “Eclipse” at their rooftop bar and it's worth checking out prior to Dinner. We'll be back !

Beautifully modern and bold restaurant tucked in Atascadero's downtown area does not disappoint! Run, don't walk! The food was exquisite, fresh and had robust flavors--not to mention the tasty cocktails vibrant bar offerings which were top tier! There was something yummy for everyone--because the picky eaters who came with us, each loved their entrees and devoured the apps! One recommendation from our server was the Artichoke Five Cheese Fonduta--and we had a few guests who scowled at the word "artichoke"--but when it arrived, we realized we should've gotten 2! Service was attentive and the ambiance was second to none!

While not frequent diners, we do enjoy the times we go to Cielo. Last night we celebrated my wife's birthday. She had the Lasagna and I had the Chicken Alfredo. The lasagna was very good. The Alfredo was lacking substance in garlic and a small amount of pepper. For dessert, we shared the chocolate mousse. The mousse was so hard you needed a knife to cut it (came out too cold). Here is the best part. our service was excellent and when we were about to settle the bill, we asked the waiter if he would mind a suggestion on the food. He graciously took it to the chef who sent back appreciation for the suggestion. Not many place do this. We will be going back.
