It’s a quaint place with small section of seating indoors and a nice patio area outside. Enrique even remembers our names and it’s been at least a yr since we’ve seen him. We have always loved their food. And this time did not disappoint. The salsa was smoked just right. Chips are fresh. The pastrami sandwich was great. And the macaroni salad is the bomb! Seasoned just right. With this location they have beer but only one for the time being. We will definitely be back more now that we know where they are. “With so many Mexican restaurants in town it's hard to set yourself apart. But the food was hot and delicious. The enchiladas were very flavorful. Great sauce. Taquitos were very crispy and delicious. In the shrimp avocado appetizer was plentiful lots of luscious shrimp. I will definitely be back.”

“This is such a cute coffee shop with lots of natural light. We came to town for a track meet and found this online. The employees are very welcoming and friendly. The gentleman taking our order suggested the salted caramel ice cream for my affogato and it was absolutely delicious. My son got the caramel macchiato and loved that also. The chocolate croissant was tasty. They toast the bagels perfectly and I was pleasantly surprised that they cut it in quarters after adding the cream cheese. It was so much easier and less messy to eat that way. I wish we had a place like this in Santa Maria. I will definitely be craving this coffee until next time I drive through for one. I wish I would have taken pictures but they almost disappeared instantly lol.”

“Came for the 1.99 tacos on Tuesday as I was doing some laundry next door. Driven by for awhile but had never stopped in.

I ordered 2 buche, 2 carnitas, and an al pastor taco, and grabbed a sidral mundel from the cold case. All that came to $13! Once I got them I knew it was going to be a good deal. The tacos where piping hot with a big pile of grilled onion and a grilled jalapeno, plus a packet of their own hot salsa. The staff was super friendly and bustling along too and the soundscape was delightful with some Banda on the speakers and the clang and sizzle of the grill in the back.

The buche is my favorite I've had in the area, with bigger pieces than other buche I've encountered but that same juicy, tender meat with firmer bits. The carnatis where delicious too, not as juicy, but that great carnitas mix of textures, meaty taste and some skin pieces that had rendered down. The al pastor meat was solid, nothing amazing, but I could taste the seasoning clearly and it wasn't dry at all. I forgot the hot sauce as I dove into most of the tacos but did have it on a couple. It was bright and fresh with a bit of legitimate heat, good sauce. Really satisfying meal during a heck of a rough week.

The store inside had a modest but nice selection of snacks and sweets, a big selection of drinks, tortillas, pinatas, some toys, and common produce items at Mexican markets like limes, onions, etc. A one stop shop for a dang fine time. Some meat items like the fajita prepped chicken or Al pastor may draw me in too, but I'd probably go to other carnecerias for things like arrachera.

Came back an hour later to get some asada tacos for my wife, she loved them and noted their meaty goodness and solid mild salsa. I know I'll be back for Taco Tuesday, and would go out of my way for the buche at full price too. Should try a burrito too...”

“I love beer. Every road trip I take, I do my due diligence and look for new breweries I haven’t yet experienced. Checking my Untappd app, I saw Spent Grain in Atascadero. Driving from Prunedale to SLO, I made it a point to add their address as a point in my GPS.

Upon arriving, I parked in the rear due to not a lot of available street parking. I walked to the street side front and looked for the brewery. Couldn’t find it. After double checking Google for the address, I looked again to no avail. Dumbfounded, I went to Google once again and delved deeper.

Upon reading the Google reviews, I found that the brewery was very much a speakeasy, if breweries can be defined as such. And why not?

The Google reviews me ruined texting for an appointment. Oh shit! I hadn’t made one! Well, can’t hurt to ask, right? So I sent a text message(available right there in their Google page) explaining my situation and lack of a reservation. Chris, the owner and brewmaster, replied quickly, and instructed me to meet him around back by the glass doors.

I met him at an unmarked entrance that required a security code for entry. He greeted me warmly and walked me down a long non-distinct hallway. We walked through a door that had the address of the brewery.

Now, I have been to 500+ breweries across the US. As I stated previously, I love beer. I love breweries as well. Big or small, it doesn’t matter. Every one has something unique to offer. Chris has built an intimate brewery experience. The entire brewery may be sixteen by sixteen feet. Drinking at the three seat bar makes you feel like a part of the brewing process. Sneeze(please don’t) and all the equipment will need to be re sanitized. You’re really that close. There are 6 to 8 brewing barrels in along the back wall. I’m no expert on size, but I would guess they were between 50 and 100 gallons, which means a lot of small batch brewing. That leaves a lot of opportunity for experimentation and rotation.

The walls are adorned with plenty of swag from a simple t-shirt and truckers hat to top of the line, $100 flannels.

Chris is incredibly friendly. Considering that the brewery may have a maximum occupancy of 5 to 10 beer lovers at a time, one has to be a good conversationalist, and he definitely is.

Chris has almost two decade of experience under his belt, having opened Dunbar Brewing in 2008 in Santa Margarita.

Chris’ beer is great. He let me try a few IPA’a before settling on a pint. He also filled a crowler of his Double IPA Slingin’ Tinnies for me to go straight from the barrel.

Just the idea of a brewery that runs on word of mouth, speakeasy type vibes is fantastic. I’ve been raving about the venue and beer to my friends back home and plan on making a return trip soon, this time making a reservation ahead of time.”

The almond croissant had very little of the paste inside which was disappointing. There are breakfast meals available which provide protein and are priced at about what the coffee and croissant cost.”

“This was hands down the best Chinese food we have ever had in our lives!! We ordered the Kung Pao Shrimp, shrimp with lobster sauce, pork fried rice and egg flower soup. Each dish was so fresh and flavorful and all of the veggies in them were crisp and delicious! And the chunks of water chestnuts in the shrimp with lobster sauce, oh my!!

Our first order was through DoorDash, also a great experience. We look forward to going to the restaurant soon!”

“6 months ago I went to this place and payed a dollar for an air cup. By air cup I mean the employee gave me an empty water cup when I asked for water. And charged me for it. “Pho 4 U is a really good Vietnamese restaurant. I'm giving it four stars because they really need to hire more wait staff. The poor girl working Friday night by herself was overwhelmed since she was doing everything including taking orders over the phone. There was another guy working but he was also running around trying to keep up with all the orders.
The menu is good and to the point which covers all of the best Vietnamese dishes. We ordered the Vermicelli noodle with grilled pork and egg roll and Chicken Pho. The Chicken Pho broth was not salty and just the right flavor.
We will come back next time we are in the area but maybe not a Friday night. :)”

No bottle sales offered. Rip off. They are a corporate restaurant than took the place a local restaurant during covid that was pretty good, but couldn't survive the pandemic. Another tragedy.
