Out of the 20+ Mexican restaurants in Atascadero, take my word for it, this is by far the best. The ambience is great, the service is impeccable, the greeting is friendly and warm. But the thing that raises Fuego above all the others is the quality of the food. This is not your usual burrito, rice and beans joint; this is a real restaurant with imaginative, creative, perfectly balanced dishes, cooked with care and love. A little pricier than the other places for sure, but...

Passing thru town we found ourselves at this understated Mexican restaurant on a Tuesday evening. We loved the guacamole and shrimp and lobster boil. Service was great. Very clean bathrooms and overall. Good quiet ambience.

I ordered their queso fundido with chorizo and roasted poblano, and it was next-level delicious. The cheese was perfectly melted, rich and bubbly, topped generously with well-seasoned chorizo and roasted chile strips that gave it the perfect kick....
