The food is decent but the service/ hospitality is awful. I would've liked to visit again but when I asked a question about something on the menu the manager (I think she was the manager) was extremely rude. I used to work in hospitality and even the manager seemed like she didn't know the basics of customer service.

One of the best places on the Central Coast. This hidden gem is on the 41, between Downtown Atown and Morro Bay. This renovated garage/barn turn modern ranch chic is the home to a fresh/natural/modern culinary experience. Once you enter you are greeted and have menu's on a little table at the door. When you're ready, you go up and order. I ordered the Rock Burger (Beyond Meat and no Bacon), comes with fries, the Bahn Mi Tots and Beer Battered Onion Rings. The Rock Burger is what you want. Beautiful fluffy Brioche bun from Back Porch Bakery, Central coast creamery blue cheese bringing the funk/creamy/saltness to cut through the burger, the caramelized onions for sweetness, the fresh mixed greens for that earthy bite, and whole grain mustard sauce for a little more acidity. The fries are done to salty, crispy, yet soft inside perfection. The Beer battered onion rings are served the a beautiful house made ranch and bbq sauce. Cooked perfect, just wish there was more. And the Star of the show, Bahn Mi Tots. The mix of tots, fresh vegetables, creamy sauce, soft meets crunch, vinegar balanced by fatty creaminess of the sauce, gives you full Umami! Just an awesome concept, that works to the fullest! The power went out while we were there with our friends from out of town and instead of kicking us out, they brought over candles (which was made by someone dinning in at the time) and asked if we needed anything. This is truly a first class operation and am honored to say they are in my own backyard. We've introduced many to them and we'll introduce many more.*What happened to the CHEESE CURDS?*

Fun menu with some great choices. Good beer on tap. A little pricey but not too bad for this area. Love the outdoor patio and space for kids to goof around. Service was excellent, had to wait a bit, but they were busy. Food was perfect.Fig jam chicken sandwich with bacon paired with an IPA in a cold night on the patio was sooo good. Bahn mi tots and Rock burger have been good as well. I hope they can keep it up because it's a fun little spot that has been revamped and I like what they do.

What can I say, this place is an absolute hidden gem! The girls behind the counter were incredibly nice, fast in their work and very welcoming. The Rock Burger will knock your socks off and leave you very satisfied, easily the best burger I’ve had in any state. Chef’s kiss.

This is one of our favorite restaurant in SLO county! Every dish we have had is delicious, but the burgers are our favorite. Autumn creates amazing specials that continue to impress me at the diversity of flavors. Also my husband and I met at the restaurant in 2019, which happens to be documented in the New Times as the lady in red.

Ate here for the first(and probably last) time this evening. Arrived at~ 5:15 and were the only customers. My son ordered a burger and I ordered the pesto chicken Sandwich. They were out of cheese curds so we ordered a side of onion rings to share. After about 10 min another couple came in (and there may have been a pick up order as well) but certainly not busy. Food finally arrived after about 20 min and the experience went down hill from there. My Son's burger was severely overcooked (borderline burnt). He ate it but was unimpressed. The Onion rings had good flavor and were served with a zippy vinegary Bar-B-Q sauce but were also overcooked and borderli e burnt. My chicken sandwich looked good (huge breast filet), but the experience imploded from there. The chicken was cooked to the consistency of shoe leather. The breast was covered with what could best be described as a brouchetta (tomato based sauce), and a thin layer of melted cheese. The pesto appeared to be some Aiolli drizzled on the two halves of the bun. The only other condiment was the extra onions I had ordered. I ended up leaving half the sandwich on the plate as it was so dry and overcooked as to be inedible I just couldn't choke it down.

Great food and atmosphere. Gets busy can cause service to be a little slow. Just enjoy your beer or wine while you wait. Great small town atmosphere. It's a local hangout.

Exceptionally nice staff with a menu to die for. Our car broke down on our way back down, there was no cell service and yet Dan and his team went out of the way to make sure we were okay and even help us after they had closed. We owe them forever.

Located on Highway 41, the Halfway Station is conveniently located in between Atascadero and Morro Bay. The Halfway Station has ample parking as well as a ton of outdoor and indoor seating. There is shaded and non-shaded areas to sit and overall the outdoor seating venue is just fantastic! They have a little stage outside as well, in which they do live music. The indoor seating has ample seating as well as a large bar area. The overall vibe is just very relaxed and welcoming and the employees are extremely helpful and friendly! They have a variety of local alcoholic beverages on the menu in which we ordered the Bristol's cider (one of our local favorites)! The menu is comprised of mainly burgers, sandwiches, and salads, as well as some great options for apps - our personal favorite were the cheese curds. Ordered the station burger (added avocado) and Bella burger (with meat), both with fries, and they were absolutely delicious! Our food came out relatively quick and hot! So glad I finally tried the Halfway Station as I was very impressed and will surely be back again soon!
