So dissapointed. Portion really small, specially for the price. Teriyaki chicken super dry over cooked. Yakisoba super pour .. will never come back to this place.
My girlfriends threw me a party here for my birthday and the service was absolutely wonderful. There were so many of us and yet the food arrived quickly, all the orders were correct and delicious. Great drink selection, fun sushi dishes like Sushi Pizza! We cannot thank you enough for the accommodating service and incredible food!
A new experience & very delicious. Service was very good as well & friendly
As an Atascadero resident, I’ve been coming to Kochi for awhile now. They’ve previously been the staple of quality sushi in the area. While prices were a bit more, they gave you quite a bit of food. Tonight however, things were significantly different. I showed up with my family’s regular to-go order that totals around $100. When I asked about one item that was missing they promptly apologized and put a rush order in. Then she increased the bill and handed it to me…since this was my regular order, I was surprised to have the bill increased. Upon further evaluation my 20 piece sashimi platter went from $37 to $52! Also, each of the other items had increased by $2 or more. I was told that the 40% increase was due to increasing costs. I know shipping/ logistics woes are prevalent right now. But 40%?! Additionally, there was no mention anywhere online about an increase in prices. Something of this magnitude should definitely be mentioned somewhere in their business’ online presence. So, a bit bummed, I went home with my order. First thing I noticed was that they also didn’t provide the miso and rice that normally come with the sashimi platter (this could have been just a mistake). Second, I looked at my Caterpillar roll (eel and crab inside topped with avocado and eel sauce) and noticed that it was missing eel! However when breaking open the roll, I saw that there was in fact a paltry amount of eel, far less than this roll normally has. There was also barely any eel sauce. Yet another disappointment. The final straw was with the sashimi platter itself. Tuna, Albacore, Salmon, Ono and Snapper. The Tuna, Albacore, and Snapper were average. One could chalk that up to ordering sushi on Wednesday night in between fish shipments. But, the Salmon and Ono were unpalatable. They wreaked of old fish and I had to throw it away. If only one or two of these things had happened, I could attribute it to an off night. However, coupled together, I think my family and I will be trying somewhere else to fill our sushi fix
This spot is modern, attractive and somehow cozy, with a terrific, friendly and attentive staff. The menu is large and satisfying, whether sushi or BBQ. Always a delight. Prices are moderate. A great lunch or night out for dinner. You will go back.
Great variety on the menu. The fish is always fresh and I have never gotten ill which can be an issue with sushi.
Across from movies. Spicy garlic chicken delicious, spicy. 2 item lunch just right. Connie said outstanding tempura.
Every time I come and visit the Central Coast, I visit Kai Lana at least twice. The best thing to do is go during lunch and get the special because it’s a lot of food for a very fair price.
This modern, comfortable and crisp sushi and Korean BBQ restaurant is the place to be when you have an urge for either cuisine. The menu is large and seems to have something to satisfy everyone and there is a wide selection of fresh fish and meat platters, wines and beers. We've had lunch there weekly and have always had a great experience and the staff is always friendly and efficient. For the quality of the foods served, the prices are quite reasonable. Give it a try.
Alway enjoy eating at Kai Lana Sushi. Food is always good' and the beer is always cold.Very accommodating to families with a play room for the little ones.

They have a wide variety of food to choose from their menu. They also have a BBQ grill on the tables so you can grill your own.
The restaurant has moved to 6900 El Camino Real, Atascadero and has added Korean BBQ to their menu. It's a good move to a much nicer facility. The food was fresh and delicious. We had an assortment of Sushi and also tried the "Greyhound Platter" on the Korean BBQ side of the menu. Good service and a nice atmosphere.
Although I have not tried any of their Korean dishes I have high hopes given how good their rice bowls and Ca rolls are. great food good service
I love sushi but I haven’t had it since I moved to Atascadero 2 years ago. I called and ordered on Sunday for lunch. Ordered a few appetizers, chicken fried rice and 4 different sushi rolls. Everything was amazing. Had 2 orders of the spicy tuna roll and I’m glad I did. It was very good. Everything tasted fresh which is important in sushi. Also tried the rainbow roll, dragon roll(eel) and the Philadelphia roll. I picked up everything and we ate it at home. The restaurant looks very nice for the short time I was in there. They even had a kids play area for families. I will definitely go back for my sushi fix. Address is 6900 El Camino Real.
We loved eating here and it was great for the price. But they brought a chef from a nearby town and then the portions got smaller and we enemies up spending 20% more to get the same quantity of food.
