Oct 5,2025 If you’re looking for authentic Mexican cuisine and flavor. Agaves is not the place, I feel they’re really lacking the authentic flavor and are catering to all the folks that don’t like spice & lack knowledge of the Mexican cuisine.
We were looking to try their breakfast I ordered the green chilaquiles & my partner ordered machaca.
The sauce in my green chilaquiles tasted sweet, the rice tasted like carton & I was so disappointed to say the least.
My partners machaca was ok it tasted more like water down barbacoa.
We asked for a spicy sauce to try and save our dishes & it tasted like ketchup and tapatío 🤣
Ugh 😣 it’s so over priced & not good honestly I feel so sad leaving this review but if I can help someone save $50 of tasteless food I will do my best. Atwater needs a good Mexican restaurant 😭

I was really excited to try a new Mexican restaurant in Atwater. When we walked in, the place was clean with a simple, straightforward setup. booths lined both sides of the walls, with tables spread throughout the center. We were greeted right away and allowed to pick any booth we liked. At the time, we were the only customers in the restaurant.
Our server was quick to bring chips and salsa and take our drink orders. I had a Modelo Michelada, my wife had water, and my daughter ordered a lemonade. We also got a flight of margaritas to try. The presentation on the michelada and margarita flight was excellent, and the taste didn’t disappoint either.
For food, I ordered a wet carne asada burrito, my wife had the sopes, and my daughter got the mojara. The burrito was decent—what you’d expect at a typical Mexican restaurant. The sopes and mojara were also just okay. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either.
Overall: • Service: Excellent • Drink Presentation & Taste: A+ • Food: Average • Ambiance vs. Price: While the service and presentation are top-tier, the food and basic atmosphere don’t quite justify the higher price point. It feels a little mismatched.
If you’re looking for a place with great service and Instagram-worthy drinks, this spot delivers. But if your focus is on rich, authentic Mexican flavors in a matching setting, it might fall a bit short.

The service was very good but I didn't like that on the menu they have a set price and when they charge you they charge you a different price. The food is delicious but I don't like that they charge you more. It was too expensive for me to eat with just me and my baby. 50 dollars The truth doesn't seem fair to me And I only ordered ranchero shrimp

Today we ordered a fish and a cocktail. I asked for the fish to be well browned and with the garlic mojo, the truth is that it was not good at all. You could tell that they had browned the fish while frozen and that the meat was watery and apart from the fact that the head had gills and looked raw. I ordered the same dish before and it was super delicious. I don't recommend this place at all.

June 11, 2024 - we decided to try LA COSTA RESTAURANT IN ATWATER best believe we were excited to try it since it was our first time however the waitresses brought chips and salsa to our table and said she’d be right back. Two other people entered after we had been sitting in the table for a while, well the other persons that got here after us got drinks and food served before us. Keep in mind we didn’t get offered anything to drink or our order taken. First and last time coming here 0/5 ⭐️!

I ordered a molcajete de mariscos to go I was treated with a little soup and some chips and salsa, very good customer service, everything was delicious ??,??✌️?.
Food was amazing with great flavor. Portions were large and great prices! Going back for taco Tuesdays for $1 tacos!

Came for the $1 taco Tuesday 5-14-24 and the tacos were the best full of flavor and the carnitas tacos were not dry like most other places I been to , the meat was juicy and was cooked to perfection ?service was friendly and fast no complaints ?God
