Very well organised and welcoming spot. They offer generous portions and for economical prices. I loved the meals very much and the staff members were super amiable and explanatory. Highly recommended.

I'm out if town patronizing a different Himalayan restaurant.. and although it is good, it pales in comparison to the Sherpa!!

This was my first time trying Himalayan food, it was amazing! I had lamb and chicken. Phenomenal. Will definitely be going back.

Try this amazing restaurant. They are open and following all Covid-19 procedures. This food is made from scratch delicious. You’ll love the owner. She puts a little love in every dish. The momos are divine and the lamb dish is excellent. Be sure to go in the top entrance of the building under the blue awning. It’s a little hard to find but so worth it once you get there.

I am so glad our friend introduced us to this restaurant. We have tried several dishes and they were all delicious. The owner, Maya, is very friendly and the food is always served quickly. She even opened for us when all other restaurants were closed during an extended PG & E power outage. We had dinner by candle light.

Delicious food and great service. Lovely people to talk to. Very cute building with lots of seating. Tons of parking with shade on top.

The food was authentic and delicious. It was a Sunday night and very quiet. Very happy to find a Nepalese restaurant nearby that is so very good. Thrilled and happy. And YUM!

I do a lot of restaurant reviews. And I have enjoyed most of the ones of tried. But this restaurant knocked my socks off! You must try her momos. They are like dumplings but better. They are so good you’ll be wishing you ordered a double batch. She is an authentic cook from Nepal. If you’re going for dinner maybe call ahead and let her know you’re coming and you want the momos. She has a large restaurant that’s great for large groups. Calling ahead if you have a big group would be beneficial so she can prepare for you. I’m going to say she’s a hidden gem in Auburn. Probably the best food in all of Auburn. Her parking lot is tiny so park across the street or in the Public lots and walk there. You’re in for a delicious surprise when you eat her food. Made fresh and with lots of love!!

Dont let the hidden location deter you from stopping in. Came by for lunch and every single bite was amazing! Lamb was tender, flavors very rich! Will definitely be back often!

Visited the Sherpa for the first time tonight and the food was outstanding! The owner is the bartender and chef as well and the food it very authentic. She was very friendly and answered all of our many questions. Loved the saag paneer, veg biryani and chicken tikka masala. The naan was also divine! The wine and beer were nice too. Support this small business! It's so nice to have a good Himalayan restaurant in the area. So unique and I found it to be very similar to Indian cuisine but with a clean and unique flavor that can be hard to find. We will be back!

We stopped for lunch on a Saturday. We had never eaten Himalayan Nepali food before but decided to try after reading the menu online. They offer very reasonably priced lunch specials so we chose three. I ordered the Mixed Vegetables and asked if she could please add some tofu to it. That was no problem and I assume if I had asked for chicken or something else, she would have agreed to that, too. We shared this dish. I also ordered the Vegetable Biryani special which I ended up sharing because the serving was GIANT. My husband ordered the 6 Piece Vegetable Momo which sounded great but was somewhat of a disappointment. The menu described it as "Cabbage, green onion leaves, cilantro, spinach, cauliflower, carrot, minced in Himalayan spices and wrapped in a flour dough and steam cooked. Served with fresh tomato sauce." However, it was about 75% white flour dough and 25% all those other delicious sounding ingredients that had been processed into very tiny pieces all blended together. They reminded us of Chinese dumplings. We thought all the food was freshly cooked - not from frozen nor waiting already cooked on a warming table. I thought my vegetable dish was a little salty for my taste so I would request less salt next time. The service was excellent - not rushed but taking our orders when we were ready and stopping back to check on us at a good time - we did NOT have our mouths full of food nor were we in the middle of a conversation. She was very friendly but not intrusive. I am not certain but perhaps she was also the chef since the restaurant was not at all busy. She also asked us how spicy we wanted our food. We chose mild but would definitely recommend at least medium if you like your food more flavorful. We definitely plan to visit again in the future.

Enjoyable environment. Maya, the owner, is pleasant and kind. My y favorite dish is the noodle soup that is called Thukpa".

What a funky place to have great curry dishes! The decor is colorful, and it was quiet enough to not have to shout to have a conversation. I was impressed with the variety of offerings, and each was distinct. I'm no expert at Himalayan foods but sometimes I cannot taste the difference between a biryani and a masala....goes to show you how much I know! But I do love curry dishes and each had a distinctive flavor and texture. I'll be back!
