good food, service not so much
First off, the food was both fresh and flavorful and the portions were of decent size. The staff even seemed to be nice people. The service itself, however, was a complete failure. Sunday breakfast around 11am, it was understandably busy. Waiting for our table, I overheard one of the servers apologizing profusely to a customer who was paying their bill for the long wait. I knew this was not going to be a quick breakfast. We ordered our meal and then the waiting game began. The couple who were seated right before us, asked the status of their meals. More apologies. It took exactly 35 minutes and 40 seconds (I set a timer just for kicks) until the other 2 in my party got their meals. Apologies. It took another 11 minutes until I got mine. In the meantime, the rest of my table had nearly finished their meals and a group seated just after us had received their full meals before I even got mine. Obviously there was a screwup in the kitchen. More apologizing. After waiting 10 minutes, we had to ask for our bill. Apologies. Nowadays, eating out, even just for breakfast, can be pricey. But terrible customer service should never be permitted. With so many better options, we will not be returning to the Sunrise.

I am house sitting for a friend up the road from this place and gave it a shot. Ordered the Cali Benedict with hash browns and a side of fruit.
12/5 stars. Seriously phenomenal flavor in the Benedict and I really like the large cut portions of fruit. The fruit stays fresh longer in large cuts. I really felt alive and refreshed after this meal. Thank you ?
Edit: I wanted to add that I got more food from there and it tasted even better than the first time. 25/5 stars. I hope you guys stay open forever, your food is absolutely wonderful. The flavor and quality far exceeds the price point. I really appreciate the food and friendly service, thank you!!! ??? I asked a couple eating outside about the waffles, and I will be getting one next time.

Small breakfast place hidden in the corner. The food wasn't too bad. The orange juice tasted like it was cut with something other than water to thin it. The pancakes were good and the Veggie Omlette I got was okay. The servers were very friendly, and the service was quick.

I found this place to be really good despite the interior feeling a little bleak. First they have indoor and outdoor seating. The space of the dining room inside is a little awkward as you can’t see the entire dining space.
The service was pretty quick and few little mistakes here and there but nothing major. But the food was great. They have excellent onion rings and really well seasoned fries. My sandwich was cooked very well. They have an LOP sandwich that my table spent forever trying to guess what it was- lettuce onion pickle? Nope- Lake of the Pines obviously!
Will definitely return.

At first I was disappointed that they didnt have corned beef hash, but they do have a chorizo(which is my other favorite breakfast food) breakfast plate and when they offered me tortillas as one of the "bread" options... I knew that I had come to the right place. I can't remember what my Wife had, but I know that it was vegetarian and she enjoyed it. Great food, great atmosphere. I highly recommend this eatery.

SHORT VERSION:A little pricey, but excellent food, service, and atmosphere made it worthwhile.LONG VERSION:I love finding out-of-the-way diners and trying them out. Sunrise is one of those places. It's in a neighborhood strip mall tucked a mile off the main highway through this part of the world, stuck beside a hardware store and an empty grocery market (but sharing parking with the local library branch). There were indoor and outdoor seating areas, both clean, and both busy.I had no wait, despite the late-morning Saturday crowd. There seemed to be both indoor and outdoor tables available the whole hour I was there, but the customers kept coming constantly.Withing two minutes of being seated, there was water and a menu before me. The server watched closely enough to be there to take my order just after I set down the menu. I ordered a strawberry waffle combo, one of my favorite breakfast orders during a first visit to any diner.I figured I'd get some work done while I waited, but by the time I had my keyboard paired to my tablet (about 7 minutes) the food hit the table. The waffle was perfectly done and there were a good number of strawberries on it. Also, four towers of whip cream - not too much! Sadly, whip cream from a can, but getting "proper" cream is an oddity these days. This was just fine.My egg was scrambled and done right. The bacon I had requested crispy was crispy, but not burned. Breakfast was great! One funny thing. There was a parsley garnish, I think. I found it under the bacon. It was a sprig about half the size of a dime. Now, that's as much parsley as anyone needs, but it was humorous to see it hiding under there.Everything was excellent. My only less-than-perfect note was that meal and tax (I had no drink but the water) came to $22 which is high for me. It was good enough I didn't mind, but it is expensive enough it won't be a regular haunt.Good work, Sunrise Cafe!

Huge shoutout to Sunrise Cafe. Their dinner tonight was the best meal I’ve eaten out in the 3 1/2 years I’ve lived here. Everyone at our table loved everything we consumed. I know this is only night 2, but if you haven’t come here yet, DO IT. Price, service, food selection, preparation, and presentation OUTSTANDING.
Excellent breakfast, friendly and very accommodating with a great attitude!
Parking: easy access & plenty of parking

I placed an order online prior to opening and my husband and I decided to instead go somewhere that was open. I called as soon as they opened and communicated that I wanted to cancel my order. The woman who answered said she would tell the kitchen not to make it and let the manger know that I didn’t pick up the order to see if she can get me a credit. A few days later I still had the charge in my account. I sent an email with my order number and issue informing I did not get my credit and received zero response. So either I paid for a meal they didn’t even make or they made the meal anyway and ate in my dime. Not pleased with the service.

With all of the five star reviews, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The fajita salad was just okay. The salad was beautifully presented, but there was no flavor and the dressing was overly spicy. I do not recommend sitting at the bar. Since we had to wait at least 20 minutes for our order to be taken. The atmosphere is bright Walmart lighting meets greasy spoon cafe. I would recommend updating the restaurant and having servers that communicate with their customers.
