Showed up at 12:45 pm on a Thursday for lunch when advertised hours showed open till 3:00 pm but they were closed. Sadness, drove from Sacramento, call first!

If this place is open, the food is incredible. But the problem is nobody seems to care about it being open anymore. For the last month (i live nearby) i have pulled into the parking lot during business hours multiple times and the lights are always off and its closed. Earlier this week, a sign was on the door saying "we regret we will be closed 2-27-24. See you tomorrow". I have gone by every day since just to check and its closed every day including today 3-2-24. I called the number multiple times and it just rings and rings. So the food is fantastic but the ownership is clearly having problems. If you are driving a ways to get there call and confirm first

Auburns HIDDEN EMERALD GEM!!!The girls are always INCREDIBLY NICE, friendly and FAST! I TELL EVERYONE about this place and most have never heard of it and love it when they try it out. The only downside to this is it's location... it couldn't be in a more awkward and difficult to access in the middle of a weekday location! It's worth taking your life in your hands trying to navigate that section of hwy 49 for THE AMAZING FOOD AND PRICES. the fries don't get any fresher and the dogs don't get any tastier than they make!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. All our food tasted delicious. The half order of the handcut French Fries was enough for two people. The Polish dog had great flavor and only needed mustard and onion. Reasonable prices.

I was in the area and wanted for the longest time to try out the Wiener Works in Auburn, CA. Well I can say that the food lives up to the hype. Dog gone terrific hot dogs served up by hospitable, fun, welcoming owner in a casual, dive. The dogs are wood smoked, and then beer steamed. That makes for a flavorful, juicy dog. I luved the fresh casing snap after each bite. Yum! The buns were steamed giving it a nice landing spot for the hot dogs. The buns held up to the fixings. The fries were hand cut and freshly fried. The tiny serving was the smallest but by golly it was the most impressive tiny size I have seen. The place is in a shopping plaza along Highway 49. The inside is small and compact with simple tables and chairs, the most a table can seat is four. The interior looked a bit tired and could do with a deep refresh (ain't us all). You order at the counter. But when I was there, the menu board had no prices. They were in the prices of updating the prices. So we were ordering without knowing the prices. We ordered a "tiny" side of fries, a hot dog with mustard, tomatoes, relish and onions, and two drinks. It came out to be around $17. I waffled between a 3 to 4 star rating but the food and awesome staff attitude pushed it to 4.Another thing to mention is that the clientele can include local, regulars who talk politics and world views amongst themselves in the tiny square footage of a dining room. They did on the day I was there, actually table right behind me did. Some of them talk really loud because they are a certain age and their hearing ain't what it use to be. The topics were certainly "hot" like their fries outta of the fryer. Just sayin.

Wiener Works won me over! The hot dog was noticeably less salty than a typical dog, and I could really taste the flavor of the meat and the other ingredients. Their food is fresh, delicious, and it leaves you feeling nourished and satisfied. The French fries were great also! They must use a healthy, clean oil for frying. Great service and a charming interior to dine in. I will definitely go back there!

Wow! I am stuffed. Dropped in on a whim and was not disappointed. Small place seven tables but the food is awesome. Fries are hand cut to order. Everything is made fresh when you order. We had the kraut dog, chilli dog and chilli cheese fries. The fry orders are huge we got the half order and it was huge. The fog are very good with a nice snap when you bite into them. The owner passed away but family is keeping the place going. Great food!!!

My friend and I came from Lincoln and Folsom to enjoy a hot dog and fries and when we arrived there was a sign in the door saying they were "closed today" due to cleaning a steamer. So disappointed! Hadn't been in a few years and was really excited about introducing my friend and her son to this place. I wish they had made the modifications online to let ppl know they were closed and save us the long commutes/time/gas.
