Spent my the weekend in Catalina for my birthday. I ate at the cafe 3 times while here. Because I am celiac, I order with the gluten free bread. First two times were great, avocado toast was delicious. Daughter loved the smoothie bowls. Cute little cafe with fresh foods. But the third time I ordered, I didn't think to inspect my bread because of previous times. I should have inspected. I ate about 3 bites before I realized the bread was different. It was sourdough. I immediately went back, and the girl running the cash register went to the back, then came back to tell me they mixed up my bread. She wasn't sure what to do, and offered to make me a new sandwich. Which wouldn't work because I knew I was probably going to be vomiting soon. The manager did come and refund our whole order, and offered to reimburse me if I could find activated charcoal (may help with gluten ingestion) but it being a small island, there wasn't any. Luckily I made it home before I got sick, but being glutened on my actual birthday was not my plan. Being in pain today, and feeling miserable was definitely not my plan. Please, please educate the servers, people preparing food, anyone who works there about celiac, or allergies and to be a little more careful when preparing food for someone who listed an allergy. The food is good, the staff is nice, the manager was great. It's just unfortunate this happened.

Smoothie was great, but the turn around time for food was asinine. 30 minutes for a bagel and avocado toast for the gal in front of us, and 40 for a breakfast

Cute spot with good fresh food. It was a little pricey but everything on the island is. I loved their Pina colada and sweet potato fries. I thought the veggie panini was a bit bland. The girls were super helpful in helping us navigate gluten free options (my fiancé is celiac).

This place was recommended to me by one of the locals because I was insistent. They do serve a pretty good chorizo and egg burrito. It was pretty decent size and it was very tasty. They have a very nice outdoor seating area to relax and enjoy your people watching!aim here the same day for an afternoon snack Anne had there Reuben sandwiches as well. That was pretty good also. The young lady behind the counter was very nice and helpful on suggestions. Definitely a go to place when you're on the island!

Cute cafe with nice patio seating. Lots of options for lunch and breakfast. I ordered the Cubano hot toasted sandwich and it was delicious. They don't skimp on the pork and it's a thick piece of ham.

Ordered the Veggie Stack with egg salad added and the Cobb Salad. I have to say, that sandwich was fantastic. Vegetables were crunchy and I so appreciated the egg salad made with either pickle juice or something tangy. So good! Not a huge fan of the dressing on the Cobb but the salad itself was crisp and chock full of fresh ingredients. Very filling. Server was super friendly. Love the live music on the patio. Will definitely be back.

I love this place! They have really delicious breakfast sandwiches you can even get gluten free. In the afternoon they have drinks, cute patio area! It's a great healthy spot for quick bites and wonderful customer service.

Melissa and Natalie at Cafe Metropole helped me plan an amazing sunset picnic on the island to propose to my girlfriend. The picnic was at an incredibly scenic and remote location, where a beautifully set up table was prepared with delicious champagne and charcuterie! The team helped me carry out the best proposal I could have imagined!

The chorizo breakfast burrito was surprisingly good. That $11 price point was just a little scary.

The cutest cafe on Avalon. We ate here almost every meal for 3 days! Super reach and healthy!

The food at Metropole is really great. Unfortunately they don't have craft coffee. The service was quick and the ambiance great. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the Santa Catalina sun and breeze. Definitely recommending this place.

VEGAN REVIEWCame here for breakfast one morning. Got the chickpeas salad sandwich, which was delish! Also have several avo toast options. Vegan items are clearly marked on the menu Friendly service, though weekends have a long wait (my sandwich took 30+ min). The line is out the door! Cute ambiance. Lots of outdoor seating.

Beautiful cafe right across from the water, and a great team of staff to support it! Such a lovey place, thank you!

Great little stop after arriving from the ferry on Catalina. Ordered the breakfast burrito which was very good - enjoyed the pressed panini style. They do stop serving the breakfast burrito at 12pm so best to get there to enjoy this treat before then! The staff were friendly and the outdoor area was nice - local music artists performing in the courtyard was a great comfort!
