“Loved this place! Top tier chili dogs. The staff was friendly and got us our food pretty quick. It’s a very casual spot and isn’t a sit down restaurant (you order at a window and there’s a small seating area), so is best for a quick lunch or you want a lowkey dinner. It’s an extremely affordable option too.”

We ordered and I complimented her on how nice she was, all day we have had really sour people both tourists n locals.
She was so nice she even brought my wife a ice cream n sprinkles w a candle. So nice ty serene.
She needs to be kept on, a plus for the company n customers.

“Nice little tiki bar right in the main drag in Avalon across from the harbor. As all good tiki bars should, the cocktails were very creative and really good!

Service was spot on, and the drinks came quick. Did not have any food while we were there.”

“We stopped in for a day trip I read this was the place to go according to the locals online and man it didn’t disappoint!! Alex was our main bartender he was awesome! The locals were all so kind we did the teriyaki beef it was sooo good! Drinks were on point the atmosphere and workers were all so inviting! We look forward to a trip back !”

“Some of the best food I have ever had. Clam chowder was creamy and good. Da bomb shrimp had great flavor and was cooked perfect. My wife commented that the sea bass was some of the best fish she had ever had. Our server was very personable and welcoming. Talked a bit and shared his recommendations for each dish to make it the best possible. This play is way better for quality and price than many of the other options on the island!”

“Nice little ice cream shop with good selection and generous portions. I thought the single scoop would just be a single scoop but they fill out a decent sized cup. The interior is tiny so can only accommodate one or two groups at a time. The flavors are all delicious. The staff seem very uninterested in their job, not super welcoming nor friendly. They are not rude, just apathetic and bored.”

“I used the Vons app today for a one hour delivery time frame via the Carlsbad, CA store. After the third-party member picked up the order and did not deliver for almost three hours, I requested a refund for the melted ice cream which I received promptly. I certainly did not expect to see this a couple of hours later: a refund for the entire purchase...thank you Vons for going above and beyond with your customer service!”

“Of the 4 places we dined at in Catalina, this was by far the best place. The food was delicious, the chef really knows what they're doing. The menu has so many enticing options to choose from. We were sharing samples of everyone's meals at our table because it was all so wonderful. We sat on the deck and the staff was very accommodating and opened umbrellas for us. I would highly recommend this restaurant!”

“This place is great for someone wrapping up the TCT or even for someone just section hiking/camping for a few days.

I love to grab breakfast here on the morning I plan to go back on the ferry.

This past trip I had chicken tenders when we came in as a day 0 type of thing and on our way out I had the e-bay (everything BEC bagel). I remember the service being really slow the last time we were on the island, with just 1 person working the register and 1 person in the kitchen, but this time they had at least double that and the service was quick, which was preferable.

It's a little pricey but everything in two harbors is.”

“Small but quality. Loved the option for soft serve vanilla or chocolate. The Reese Sunday with peanut butter drizzle was the best! Higher priced than should be but everything on the island is overpriced.”

“Interesting food, French toast was very skinny and appeared to be slices from a loaf, avocado 🥑 toast had a light spread of avocado. If your anything like me, I want slices on my avocado toast. Otherwise the service was stellar and a very short wait”

“A great little deli at the ferry terminal plaza on Avalon. My sandwich was twice as big as I expected! And delicious. Service was fast and very courteous. Take-out only. But, it's a great place to grab very decent food as you are getting on or off the Catalina Express. Signage is small, but it's worth finding. Also very reasonable prices for the location. Fast food with homemade flavor. Take-out only.”

“We had a great meal at Original Antonio’s while visiting Catalina Island! We tried the white veggie pizza, Margherita pizza, Roasted Turkey Breast sandwich, Philly Cheese Steak, and Roasted Prime Rib Dip & Cheese.

The pizzas were very cheesy with plenty of fresh toppings. The crust was on the softer side with a somewhat thicker dough, so if you prefer a soft, doughier pizza rather than a thin crispy crust, you’ll probably enjoy it. The sandwiches were generously filled and satisfying, especially the Philly Cheese Steak and Prime Rib sandwich.

The only area that could use improvement was ordering over the phone. The lady taking our order didn’t seem familiar with some of the menu items and couldn’t describe what came on a few of them when we asked, which made ordering a little confusing. Better familiarity with the menu would definitely improve the experience.”

“Topside on Catalina Island was one of the highlights of our trip! After exploring Avalon, we stopped in for lunch and couldn’t have picked a better spot.

The fish tacos were incredibly fresh and packed with flavor, perfectly cooked and topped with just the right balance of ingredients. The Philly cheesesteak was equally impressive, loaded with tender steak, gooey melted cheese, and served on a perfectly toasted roll. Every bite was outstanding.

What really made the experience special was the relaxed island atmosphere and the beautiful setting. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home while we enjoyed a great meal.

If you’re visiting Catalina Island, Topside is a must-visit. Great food, excellent service, and an unbeatable island vibe make this a place we’ll definitely return to on our next trip. Highly recommend the fish tacos and the Philly cheesesteak!”
