“Excellent spot to spend a few hours and enjoy the sun when visiting Catalina Island. We got to the island in the morning and explored via the golf cart rental and after headed over to the beach club. Good vibe and music playing with very friendly staff. We had an issue with someone taking our chairs however the staff smoothened that over promptly so no issues for us.Useful tip: Book your seats in advance as it can get full fairly quickly in the weeks leading up to your planned trip. Will visit again when I go to Catalina Island.”
“I am usually very self conscious in a new restaurant due to my being a vegan goofball... I usually tend to simply go for a quick easy app as to not ask for too much manipulation of the menu items. But my co worker asked the gentleman serving us what kind of veggie/vegan foods they have on my behalf which made me blush. He perked up and went through the ingredients in his mind and offered such a beautiful idea and solution for a meal. I was TRULY grateful for their kindness and that FANTASTIC Fajitas burrito!Gahh... Covered in green sauce and avocado on top... Mmm... With SOOOOO much like!Tremendous adoration for this place!?”
“Right on the shore. It’s fresh, made to order. The fish n chips and shrimp n chips are fresh and delicious. My friend did get a hot dog and they put a pickle on it, so if you hate pickles make sure to tell them no pickles. The tartar and cocktail sauce are delicious. Great atmosphere and they do have sitting outside to watch people and enjoy a nice lunch. They are tons of stuff on their menu.”
“I love this place! It's a local favorite for sure, but for those visitors wanting some great food, great drinks, outside in the beautiful Island air with salt of the earth people, find this hidden secret! Their Breakfast Tortilla Melt is my all-time FAVORITE breakfast taco ever! No joke! You'll love everything you get from this family resturaunt!”
“I had fish and chips and tacos with a local beer. I also ordered rice on the side. There were a lot of chips and the fish was fresh.Kid-friendliness: It’s a shame there’s only one high chair.”
“We had the cheese flatbread pizza, curried tuna sandwich and turkey sandwich. They were all really delicious, especially the tuna sandwich. The curry flavor wasn't overpowering so it was a nice balance of flavors.”
“The PB & A (peanut butter and açaí) smoothie was delicious. My brother said his pulled pork sandwich was great and I enjoyed the veggie panini. Glad to see they have a few vegan options too.”
“From the moment we stepped into Steve's Steakhouse in Avalon on Catalina Island, we were greeted with the kind of warmth and hospitality that instantly made us feel welcomed. A special shoutout to Amelia at the front desk, whose enthusiasm and genuine recommendation convinced us to dine here. She truly went above and beyond, ensuring our visit started on a high note. Our dining experience was further elevated by our waiter, Bryce. His attentiveness and vibrant personality shone through from the beginning. Bryce had an impressive knowledge of the menu, providing us with fantastic recommendations that did not disappoint. His friendly and down-to-earth demeanor made our meal even more enjoyable, adding a personal touch to our evening. The table service, led by Ricky P., was exceptional. He was incredibly attentive, ensuring our needs were met promptly without us ever having to look for assistance. His efficiency and dedication to providing top-notch service significantly contributed to the seamless flow of our dining experience. The ambiance of Steve's Steakhouse, combined with the outstanding service from Amelia, Bryce, and Ricky P., created a memorable evening for us. The team's commitment to excellence was evident in every interaction, and it's clear they are the backbone of this establishment. We highly recommend Steve's Steakhouse to anyone visiting Avalon on Catalina Island, not just for the delicious meals but for an experience made remarkable by its staff.”
“Cute spot with good fresh food. It was a little pricey but everything on the island is. I loved their Pina colada and sweet potato fries. I thought the veggie panini was a bit bland. The girls were super helpful in helping us navigate gluten free options (my fiancé is celiac).”
“I ONLY went for drinks and fries and the view, so I cannot speak on their entrees or service during a rush. Some of the reviews are negative and they sound just and Im not going to argue against them because they sound like legitimate issues. I went with 2 others on a Thursday in March 2024 so it was definitely slow and off-peak season. Omar was bartending and the place was pretty empty. Service was quick and pleasant, the view is great. There was also an adorable gull who stayed close and wasn’t aggressive, almost like a mascot. Im from the Great Lakes, I know what aggressive a-hole gulls are like and this bird was awesome and just like a quiet member of our group waiting for its time to talk. In conclusion, had a great time, met a cool local (not the bird, a cool human), service was good, great view. I can’t say anything about the food really besides decent fries and garlic bread. Great sunset view of Avalon.”
“Didn't get food but my friends did. They enjoyed the breakfast burritos and sandwiches. The staff was also very friendly and very helpful. They went above and beyond when I needed help with something personal. The views are beautiful and the restrooms are nice and clean. The fireplace was welcoming and cozy. Cookies were not soft like I was hoping, but my friends still liked them.”
“Marjorie, our server, was one of the best servers I've had...EVER. She was easy-going, friendly, flexible, attentive to both adults and kids. She made great suggestions for the food and drink. Can't wait to go back there on my next visit to Catalina Island.Kid-friendliness: Our server checked in with us before letting the kids order sodas and other un-healthy choices...I love that! Although this restaurant gives the upscale vibe, I thought my kids were treated great and most welcome to be there!”
“My spouse and I decided to stop here for breakfast after our hour and a half boat ride on the Catalina Flyer around 10am. Food was fantastic. Definitely hit the spot after not eating all morning. Everything tasted fresh and made to order. However, the service was not so great. We felt very rushed and not personable. We were also shoved into a corner in a room that was very warm with no fresh air. And lastly, the price was a little too high for the quality of the experience. Otherwise, we would dine here again.”
“Cute little souvenir shop that also serves food. We picked up a few items as soon as we got off the ferry because it’s very close. Postcards and all kinds of knickknacks to commemorate the time you spend on the island. Located right beside the restrooms and information counters, you can’t miss it.”
“Highly recommend Avalon Grille at Catalina Island for anyone visiting the island. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is inviting, and the service is exceptional (our waitress Angelina is very sweet and thoughtful). I accidentally left my credit card there, and the manager went out of their way to bring it to me at the dock. Talk about rave service!”
