Of the 4 places we dined at in Catalina, this was by far the best place. The food was delicious, the chef really knows what they're doing. The menu has so many enticing options to choose from. We were sharing samples of everyone's meals at our table because it was all so wonderful. We sat on the deck and the staff was very accommodating and opened umbrellas for us. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Very nice staff and manager. I think the Mac and cheese was made from scratch it was so creamy. The lemon chicken was also fantastic.
The Mexican food at the restaurant is the real deal. Best I have had in years! Six hungry boys cant be wrong, they devoured the beef nachos and then mowed through the chicken nachos, chicken strips, fries. Pico de gallo was perfect! Great waiters too! Juan and Arturo served us well and tolerated 6 boisterous young boys having the times of their young lives, a little too exuberant at times but they just kept raving how much they loved the food! Sunset Bar and Grill is a restaurant located at the Catalina Canyon Inn. Of the four places dined at in Catalina, it was by far the best place. The food is delicious and the chef really knows what they're doing. The menu has so many enticing options. The Mexican food is the real deal, the best in years. The beef nachos and chicken nachos, chicken strips, fries, and pico de gallo were devoured. Breakfast was well prepared, fresh, and very satisfying. The chilaquiles, avocado toast, and pancakes were delicious, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The Portuguese sausage and poached eggs were delicious, and the huevos rancheros were raved about. The Bloody Mary was the favorite of three ordered on the island. The customer service was excellent, attentive, and friendly. The staff was very accommodating and opened umbrellas on the deck. There is a patio overlooking the pool, a cool little bar with creatively named drinks, and a little cat that adopted the patio. However, one visit was turned away at 7:30 PM despite website hours, and the food was mediocre with odd prices. Another couple was turned away at 1:30 PM. The schedule doesn't match the website. Still, it is highly recommended, with the best breakfast on the island.
