Honestly, the service was so bad. The table sitting next to us was so obnoxious and drunk. Management did nothing about it. The server forgot to order one of our dishes but blamed it on others. You could see on the receipt it was a late entry placed. Just not a good dining experience.

Great service and the best lasagna I've had in a long long time!.... cold rainy weather didn't keep us away... place not that crowded which I loved... Staff was wonderful... I'm glad we ate here!

This restaurant allowed me to book a table for 14 for my birthday and once we arrived on the island the restaurant was closed ! I booked over a month ahead of time. I'd be sure to call before making a reservation so you aren't disappointed.

DO NOT BOOK A Reservation HERE. We booked this restaurant on OpenTable and the day before the reservation we received a text, asking us to confirm which we did. We arrived on the island to find that the restaurant was actually closed until February. Since there aren't a lot of options on the island during the winter, it put us in a bind. Beware, best to go to this restaurant once you're here on the island and determine that it's actually opened.

Food, service and ambiance were all excellent! The best dish was the Scallop Pesto Linguine - the scallops were juicy and flavorful, but all dishes were very good. Arctic Char was done just right.

It was New Year's Day and the staff seemed pretty tired. We sat for about 10 minutes without being acknowledged after being seated. The food was good, but was not coursed out properly. We ordered a salad before we ordered our entrees and they all came out at the same time. It was hard to get the waiter's attention as he had way too many tables. The food was good, though. And the staff were all very nice. It was a bit drafty in the restaurant and the cold was not pleasant at the beginning of the meal. We asked for the door to be closed to the outside and they finally were able to do that. I'm sure we will come back again.

We came to M restaurant with a reservation in early September 2023 for our 10yr anniversary, with little to no expectations. When our table wasn't ready right away, we were a little wary at first, but it was ready within 5-10 minutes of our reservation time, and we were seated at a pretty little table near the front with a harbor view. After this snafu, everything else here was perfectly seamless. Our server was prompt and helpful. Food was absolutely EXCELLENT, even for my classically picky husband. We had the burrata and a Cobb salad for a starter (both fantastic), along with My Tuscan-style salmon (technically was called the arctic char) was some of the best fish I've had in years - my husband, while he loved his steak, agreed that my fish was really the highlight of the dinner. The Tuscan seasoning, the quality and portion of the fish; really one of the best fish dishes I've ever had. I had to fend off my husband as he kept trying to snake his fork over for bites. Really truly a superb preparation - soft and flakey, moist but not soggy, and a generous cut. Compliments to the chef and we highly recommend M Restaurant for a classy dinner or any special event. Looking forward to returning when we are back on the island!
Hostess very polite and responsive. Food was great. Really nice location and warm feeling. Waiter was horrible we where sat then three other table ho sat about 10 minutes after us all the tables around us had there waters drinks and appetizers before the waiter even came up to us. Very disappointed with the service ask the waiter for a certain wine he said we might me out of that I asked if he could go check and he said nope where out and never went to check won't go back !!!!
Our dining experience at M Restaurant was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were treated to excellent world-class service. The food was exceptional and well-seasoned. The atmosphere was perfect, including background music that was tasteful and unobtrusive. Menu items were competitively priced. We would gladly eat here again, and would recommend M to anyone who enjoys an exceptional dining experience. We give M Restaurant in Avalon two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Ahh we were fooled by this spot. The menu looked promising but the food we had was below average and it was quite pricey. We got seated outside since we had a dog with us. The server and host were friendly at first but as the night progressed and the restaurant became more busy, we were neglected outside in the cold. The food was OK. The cioppino with linguine for another $6 was hearty, but the flavors of the broth was ok. And there were more chunks of fish than any other seafood. My husband's chicken Parm was OK, he thought it was subpar and the portion definitely left much to be desired. The old fashioned I ordered tasted like an overly sweetened cocktail. Over $100 for our disappointing Italian food. Tourist trap sadly. As for the service, the server was nowhere to be found during the last half of the night. At first we were patient and tried to enjoy the evening. But after over an hour of sitting outside in the freezing cold, I started to flag down the host instead. I tried to flag down the other server but she straight up ignored me. Understandably we were not at her table and she was busy, but no acknowledgement whatsoever. Another group of 4 seated 20 min after us outside, but they got their food and left before we did, they were well taken care of by that woman server that ignored me at the end. I heard it was the first time they opened up the outdoor patio in awhile, so maybe that's why we received very slow service. I started to feel a sense of discrimination at this restaurant towards the end. Workers didn't seem to care to check on us but seemed friendlier towards the family of 4, I was getting very pissed. We tried to be patient given we had a dog and knew we could only sit outside, but at what point do I need to realize the level of service and neglect we received is unethical.

We came here for Italian food and we were very happy with the food. Delicious all around. Our server, Raul, was very personable and made our experience that much better. The dining room was a little chilly so I would recommend wearing a warm sweater during the colder months. Overall we had a great time at M!

This is the BEST food in Avalon. And if you're wanting something a little more formal, this is a great spot. I truly hope they're patronized enough to remain because the quality of food in Avalon isn't that great. I was so happy to have tried this place, it is now my new staple. Great service, great food, AND THE ONLY PLACE THAT SERVES ESPRESSO MARTINIS (they've got great cocktails )
