Jack’s is the absolute best place to eat on the island. The food is amazing and is a must for breakfast and lunch. I’ve been going for years and it’s is my son’s favorite restaurant to eat. The service is amazing and the staff is fantastic. They are so kind, welcoming, and great with all their guests. This place gets packed and it’s because the food tastes great and so does the coffee. You are not rushed and the atmosphere is so nice. It is nostalgic and is adorable. It is accessible to all and the wait time for a table is not too long. The whole menu is reasonable and the food is plated enough to get you full. The breakfast is great and so is the chicken and waffles. The chicken is a favorite and the dessert. This place is my top choice to visit when I come to Catalina; love it here.🩷💜

Wow $15 for a warm bottle of water and a cup of coffee and a cup of fruit with three pieces in it. Avoid at all cost.

Had breakfast. Not too busy was able to seat right away. They seat you like sardines and the mirrors on the wall are no bueno but I think that's the only negative I would say about this place. Servers are extremely attentive and make magic happen. Was originally out of bananas but came through in a pinch. Had a wonderful waffle. the corned beef hash was a little salty but mixed it with the hash browns and egg and it perfectly balanced. They have a wonderful jelly cart with strawberry and marmalade at your table. Was yummy. Asked for tap water with Ice. Was told they only have bottled water. I wonder where the coffee I was drinking was coming from. I felt this was a money grab and had to write about it here because I am certain they could offer tap water if you ordered enough food. For goodness sake, we're ordering at least 20 per person, do you really need to gouge us for an additional fee for having a sip of water. we don't need a lot.

Nothing fancy about this place, a bit dated if I say so myself. But I’m sure that’s where the discount is coming from. The soda pop cups are more European sized, with just a refill; with the exception of coffee. The food is delicious, I had the eggs Benedict which for some reason most restaurants butcher. My whole family enjoyed their viddles as well. Too many to list.
Cons: the Helppp, my, my this sir with no hair seemed to be bothered. I felt like at any second he would say hurry up and byeee. Regardless, good food bad service.

Slightly above average and a bit pricey diner food. Standard service, but be mindful they charge for water which is a bit annoying. I got a lox bagel which arguably had the most lox ever stacked on a bagel, which is fine but it wasn’t the best tasting lox, but still I shouldn’t complain about that I suppose. My girlfriend’s chilaquiles were good but not great. Not sure I’d come back but it served its purpose!

We sat outdoor seats and they are nice and decent spot to have breakfast. We both got chicken and waffles, you will get nice and crispy 4 chicken wings and a soggy waffle. I assumed it’s premade. Not crispy at all and kinda cold. Maple syrup was pretty runny wand watery..? The staffs were nice.

The food was OK nothing to impressive, but the portions were small and kinda disappointing. Would not recommend for the price point

We have been coming here for over 7 years, but this time something was different. I don't know how they did it, but the pancakes were bland. The syrup was watered down and the eggs tasted like they came out of a box. Very disappointing! On the way out we asked the cashier if there were new owners, and she gave us a surprised look and said new owners took over last year. Makes sense now. To the new owners, I understand costs are up and profit margins are diminishing, but you are ruining a great Avalon tradition. I would rather pay much higher prices than be served cheap and tasteless food. Please reconsider!!

Well for a diner, it's pretty good. Cheapest coffee on the island. Menu focuses on pancakes and eggs in the morning. Expensive for what it is. But then, everything is on the island.

Good, the plates were smaller than I pictured since the price was so high.

A solid breakfast diner in the heart of Avalon. Stopped in for my first time this morning and overall we had a nice breakfast. It’s not quite as good as a lot of spots on the mainland, but given its location I feel they did a good job. It was quite busy on a Thursday morning, so I’m sure it can get even crazier on weekends. They have a very large menu filled with all sorts of classic dishes so choosing some thing was a bit of a challenge given how many options there were. Our server was polite, although we just saw him at the very beginning of our meal and not again. Our dishes arrived actually pretty slowly, but given that I’m sure the kitchen is smaller than a lot of mainland kitchens I won’t fault them too much for that. Pricing is also pretty fair given that it’s island food and feel it would be a good stop if you’re in the area and looking for breakfast.

For my breakfast I chose the Dungeness Crab Eggs, Benedict and thought it was pretty good. The sauce was more watery than I prefer, and the Dungeness Crab was very chopped, almost like burger meat, so I wish it would’ve been more in chunk form like you see in a Dungeness Crab Cocktail. Also the hashbrowns could have been a bit crispy but overall not a bad meal. They do have Kona Coffee so the coffee was very strong and tasty, which may have been my favorite part of the meal. I would suggest if you are in Avalon and looking for a nice place to have breakfast.

Crowded, and the hash browns were burnt but a cute place to have pancakes
