Came here for lunch right after arrived from the Express. This was a horrible experience. I ordered the chicken date salad and I new it was going to be a fail when it arrived 3 minutes after I ordered it. The lettuce was chopped and wilted the tomatoes were old and soggy. I had to send it back. Literally afraid to eat it.
We also ordered the tortilla soup and it was barely warm oily with the skin of the chicken floating around. I would never come to this place ever again.

It’s one of those restaurant menus by the beach that tries to make everyone happy and then under delivers with lack luster food. We sat on the water side patio which used to have awesome tables but now is just a super thin deck with one long bar table. It was hard for servers and diners to get past so you’re getting bumped often. I like packed bars and engaging with people but this wasn’t that at all. Wont go back.
Highly recommend going next door (wait in line) for a lovely dinner at Bluewater Grill on the water as their sand dabs are great, Bread on the table is delish, wine list has some lovely gems, and the service is attentive even when it’s busy.

We were in Avalon on Catalina Island in California to attend the Catalina Island Jazz Trax Festival.
We noticed that the old restaurant that we used to go to was no longer there. There was a new restaurant named “Pier 24” now there. We decided to have dinner at the new restaurant. It was 6 of us. James, who greeted us at the door, offered us a small private room with a great ocean view. The little room was fantastic.
Once in the room we were greeted by a wonderful waitress. He name was Amanda. We later were informed her last name was Dzul. She was so attentive to us, even though she was running around attending to many tables. She always came in the room with the biggest smile on her face. She made us feel so welcomed. One of the people in our party ordered a salmon dish. Because of her lactose intolerance she couldn’t eat it because of the sauce. We brought this to Amaya’s attention and she allowed her to order another dish. She had it in 10 minutes.
We were so comfortable that we didn’t want to leave. But we had to because we were already late to the jazz concert. In closing I just want to say that Anaya’s service was fantastic and exemplary. I would definitely recommend the restaurant and ask to be seated in Amaya’s section.

The food tasted horrible. it was $17 for a Caesar salad and there wasn’t even chicken in it??? I would save your money and go somewhere that actually tastes good.

I had the pleasure of talking to the host, James yesterday afternoon as I was looking to scope out a place for dinner. He suggested to take a picture of the menu to help me decide later. I did indeed return for dinner and was running behind my schedule and was in a hurry. I advised the host that greeted me upon arriving (not James but also very nice) and my server, Willie took care of me and my food and glass of wine was served expeditiously and I was able able to leave in the hurried time frame I needed (less than half an hour!) James stopped by my table and asked how everything was and I told him how my meal and wine were so delicious and the service was impressive!! I had the shortrib grilled cheese sandwich and it was sooooo good!! I will definitely return to Pier 24!! Big shout out to James and Willie!!

Went back in July 2025 and the food was terrible for the price. I understand it's ocean side prices, but the food was just below average. Their lobster sliders were just Hawaiian rolls with 95% coleslaw with no noticeable lobster. For $26 that's really disappointing. The pizza was okay, but not worth going back.

Great place to stop in for a wonderful espresso martini and the view on the back deck is incredible.

There was a buffalo meatball pizza I tried here that was phenomenal. And I'm a New Yorker.

Pier 24 Restaurant Catalina Island is where to go for good food and excellent customer service. There’s indoor and outdoor seating, a big screen TV. My waiter/server (Jeremiah) is the friendly guy, with outstanding service. On my next trip to the Island, when I go back to Pier 24, I will try a different food item on the menu, because that's how I do it until I have tried everything on the menu.

We stopped in here and had the pleasure of getting seated in Jeremiah's section. He was extremely kind and welcoming. He makes the BEST EXPRESSO MARTINI that we have ever had. We ended up leaving to a different bar/restaurant and ended up coming back to Pier 24 to close out the night because of Jeremiah’s exceptional service. Highly recommend.
