If you want to eat where the locals eat, go to the Lobster Trap. Food is always excellent and service is great.

Gluten free lobster roll is offered here, well it's actually on a gluten free bun. Delicious. Also came back and had a lobster omlette which was very filling.

Fun place and the food was great. I don't like seafood (my wife does which is how we ended up here). I usually don't expect much when I order non-seafood at a seafood restaurant, expecting it to be more of an afterthought. I ordered the carnitas burrito with veggies and it was seriously good! I really enjoyed it and my wife loved her macadamia crusted something or another ;)

A fun and lively restaurant with many fishing theme decorations. We walked in without a reservation and got seated at the bar table. If you have a large group, reservation is highly recommended. The atmosphere and service was good but the food is a bit hit or miss. We ordered the shrimp ceviche, lobster roll, and seafood pasta. The shrimp in the shrimp ceviche is overcooked and they served with a lot of pita chips for small amount of ceviche. The seafood pasta was delicious with the grilled bread and garlic source. The fries that came with the lobster roll was a big disappointment. They were soggy and dead and we had to ask the waiter to give us some fresh ones which they did. But even the new ones were not crispy - I'd say even worse than the fries in McDonald's. The atmosphere and food quality here is more on par with a bar than a restaurant.

Still The Lobster Trap after many blue moons. However the interior has been extended massively, with more seating, remodelled kitchen and refurbishment.
The more intimate atmospere has disappeared. The music is very loud resulting in everyone talking louder adding to the noise.
The food is okay. The fish and seafood kebab was tasty and attractively presented. The crab cake was a non-starter to me. Being rather tastless of crab, with high pepper/salt content, slightly over-cooked, dry and thin, (more like pancake thickness).
Potatoes are one of my go-to-foods. I was disappointed with the taste. The flesh was bland, the skin was the best part, as normal. I question the freshness of the potato and the quality.
The wait service were fine and friendly but one dish I ordered didn't appear. That was very quickly rectified once I walked up to the wait staff at the counter on the alcohol bar side of serving area.

It was SO GOOD we were full until the next morning. We ordered the Penne pasta, cheese curds, Nauti mule and choose your own fish. Everything was wonderful, tasted like it was homemade with fresh, real ingredients. I didn't feel bloated after and it was very filling. Both meals were customizable with various options for sauces or sides. It was very busy in the evening but it was still easy to talk despite the noise. The cheese curds were so good, it was better than ordering mozzarella sticks. It was the best restaurant we had the whole trip, and we would definitely come back here on our next trip to Catalina.

Nancy was the sweetest server we’ve had during our trip to California. She was so attentive and gave us great recommendations for our day in Catalina. The food was also really really good. The swordfish was so fresh and the ribeye was a huge portion and so buttery. The tartar sauce was also the best!!!

Came in for lunch with my wife, sister, and nephew and had the Clam chowder bread bowl. The chowder was nice and thick and tasted delicious. My wife and sister had the pasta with pesto and shrimp and they said it was outstanding as was the sashimi that my little nephew had. They do give you big portions of food, which is nice. Will definitely be back.
