Haven't been to Congregation (Pasadena) in a while. Stopped for late lunch and we were pretty disappointed. Menu has changed, with most of the appetizers they used to be known for now off the menu. We shared the calamari and the sampler. Both were disappointing. Calamari was overcooked and rubbery. The mac-n-cheese was tasteless and the cheese sticks were not even warm. Great beer…nothing else. Slow slow slow service…food was just okay. Would have stayed for one more beer but the server never came back when I asked for a taste of the beer I was contemplating purchasing. When they came back without the request we just paid and left. Next time we will sit at the bar, maybe service is better there.
