The food is better than last year when I visited. We had a great time. The music and the service were great. They went up one notch. There’s still room for
Improvement.

I just had the Nicaragua food at El Gallo Pinto restaurant in Covina, it wad exactly just like the food in Nicaragua. I almost cry when I had the Nacatamal, for it was ridiculous good, i am planning on taking my son there so.

Authentic Nicaraguan flavors, big hearty plates, and the kind of gallo pinto and plantains that make you want to come back the next day.
They gave us free pork to try, it was delicious. And also gave us different types of juices for free to try. They were all excellent, we couldn’t decide which one is better.
The fritanga platter is a feast, and the staff treats you like family. The utensils also come in a paper bag so they wouldn’t touch the table. Check out my pictures.

The place is small. The dishes looked very yummy. The only negative was a customer arguing with the waitress at the register. I don't know what the problem was but it shouldn't have happened in front of the rest of the customers. Both ladies would not allow to be disrespected. It just changes the vibe trying to enjoy your meal.

If you have never tried Nicaraguan food, this is the place to discover it.

This restaurant has been here in my city for a long time and I never went in until I meant the good friend of mine that introduced me to South American food. I got their cayo pinto combination plate with carne asada which you can choose different meat from and it was so so good. Combining all the foods in that platter together was a great selection to try everything that they offer. The staff was also amazing when I went in it was very slow so stuff was available and asked us if we were doing good a few times and if we wanted dessert. Very nice people 😊 I highly recommend!

The fritanga is not a fritannga, only offer one meat. They star cleaning with pinesol while you eating, they should wait until they are close.

Haven't been here in years. The ambiance is still the same. Still one of my favorite Nica Restaurants! Our server was very polite and attentive especially with it being busy. I highly recommend this Nica Restaurant! The owner is very nice and still remembered me from years ago.. 💕

The staff fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment, and the consistently high quality of the food is commendable. While the ingredients may differ from those readily available in Nicaragua, the establishment demonstrates a dedicated effort to replicate authentic flavors, providing a comforting and familiar experience reminiscent of home. Thank you Gallo Pinto.
