The atmosphere is a bit noisy because the restaurant is a big cavernous building. The plates include generous portions of rice and beans. This is a great place for large family gatherings at a reasonable price.
Best salsa and chips. You can buy chips by the pound and get a half a gallon of salsa for your party needs.

Been coming here since I was a kid, moved away but now back in the area. Grabbed some fresh chips to go for a family get together, and had to grab some tamales to go. Still a great establishment that has history and a local landmark.

La Tolteca is absolutely delicious. But more importantly, literally everyone here treats you like family. From the moment that you order your food, pay, to immediately receiving your chips y salcita and taking your seat; everyone is most pleasant, professional, kind, and considerate.I certainly wish that I knew each employees name to highlight their accolades. Each employee, past and present, has certainly been an asset to the success of this restaurant.Because we've been coming to La Tolteca since the 1970s, taking turns back and forth with CARMEN'S and here back then; but today, presently in 2024, we literally spend our dinner dollars once or twice per week here to enjoy some delicious food and to enjoy the employees here at this fine establishment who are the foundation of this restaurant that lasts the test of time.
