Went for breakfast with 2 others around 10:05 to be exact,our server took our oder like 3 minutes later. 2 of us ordered steak and eggs and the other ordered chilaquiles. Our server was great she kept refilling our water when she noticed we had none so that was cool however as we waited for our food other people arrived then more and more, long story short those who arrived after us received their food before us and not to mention we got our food at approximately 10:50 am or so...
I am addicted to their pumpkin pancakes. I've tried their Cajun seafood omelette and steak and eggs everyone in the reviews raves about and have never left disappointed. The biscuits and gravy is second to none and their Chile verde has just the right amount of heat. This place is very consistent with the quality of their food and their service. There is no other sit down breakfast restaurant in Bakersfield that can hold a candle to 24th Street Cafe.
A great diner. Counter service was personable and quick. We got served apple butter randomly just because the owners wife made too much. The whole experience was delightful. A little crowded but lively.
