This is probably the most comforting, homemade feeling Korean food I’ve had in this town.
If you’re looking for authentic, traditional Korean food that feels like a home cooked meal, I definitely recommend this place. If you prefer fusion style Korean food, you may want to look elsewhere.”

All of my large events will be held at Luigi’s from now on!”

We were welcomed with big smiles and asked what would we like to pick for our order. The cookies were amazing and more than enough as each one was able to be cut into hefty size portions with their Crumbl cookie cutter we purchased (a must have) We will be going back this week to see what is new on the menu for Valentines Day.”

It’s rare to receive service that feels so genuine, and Ali went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed every part of our meal.
The food was simply outstanding. We ordered the Lamb Hanith and the Fahsah, and both were absolutely incredible. The lamb was melt-in-your-mouth tender, perfectly seasoned, and packed with rich, authentic flavor. The made-to-order fresh bread was amazing—hot, fluffy, and perfect for enjoying every bite of the Fahsah.
To accompany our meal, we enjoyed Mama’s Tea Milk and the Red Tea. Both were wonderfully aromatic, comforting, and the perfect complement to the rich flavors of the food.
And then came dessert…the Al-Maesub Al-Malaki, which was nothing short of heavenly! Rich, decadent, and beautifully prepared, it was the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal.

Ethel’s host a variety of local bands and line dancing in the event center with Bakersfield Line Dance instructor Joel Hoffman. “Bakersfield has a lot of Mexican restaurants. We had camped in the beautiful Sequoia National Forest for four days and were jonesin' for some Mexican food. We picked Agave based on Google reviews and its proximity to the freeway. We got lucky! The service was good, and the food was great! The smoky salsa they served with the fresh tortilla chips was the first indicator that we had chosen wisely. The chile verde was as good as my mamacita could've made. Even the beans and rice were tasty. We ordered from the lunch menu, but the portions were perfect. Highly recommend!”

“I recently visited my mom in Bakersfield. I lived there in high school but moved away about 36 years ago. We happened to be driving down California Ave so I told my mom that we should stop at Dewars to pick up some candy. She reluctantly agreed because she is not a big sweets or dessert person. Her one vice is ice cream so I was able to convince her to come in. The place is beautifully decorated in 50’s style motif and one of the servers dressed adorably. I got a mint chip with hot fudge and peanuts. The peanuts were so finely chopped and the hot fudge was delicious. Who would have thought that mint chip would be pink? I headed back to Florida the next day and I just can’t stop thinking about that incredible ice cream and experience. I guess I am going to have to visit my mom more often. Thanks for the treat Dewars. 🥰”

“Our friends recommended this spot not too long ago and I’m so glad they did because this has become my husbands and mine’s favorite place to eat out. We live 45 minutes away and we make a point to eat here every time we are near the area. So far my husband and I have gotten the Steak Al Norte, mini smash sliders, Pollo Al Ajo Confit, the Smash Burger Salad, the Naughty Fries (which taste exactly like In n Out animal style fries) and their signature Cold Brew drinks! Everything we have gotten is delicious and we are planning on working our way through the menu as we continue to return.
In addition to the great food, the staff is friendly and the service is quick, you get a lot of food so the price is well worth it, the atmosphere and decor is gorgeous and the space is nice and big, ready to welcome groups.

You have to find someone and ask for ketchup. My husband had chilli fries, he said chilli was gross. No substitutions on a burger is absolutely ridiculous!!! You're a restaurant! What if someone has an allergy? Looks like a hospital cafeteria now or the greyhound bus station! THIS WAS MY FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT! I called this morning and the waitress said it wasn't there and sounded Shakey like she was scared so I felt suspicious. I came in anyway and the waitress was nowhere to be seen but Mauricio immediately said it was there and handed it over. I cried a little and tipped him for his honesty. Real gentleman are rare these days, he's a real gentleman. His honesty is refreshing and he really saved my ass today.”

“Food is as expected in a premier sushi bar that puts in the effort. What stands out to me is the staff, who welcomed you the moment you open the door, the immediate service when you're seated and the food being on the table before you know it.
The server was never more than five minutes away from checking in and they made sure we lacked nothing.
They also clean the chairs and floor along with the table, whether it looks like it needs it or not. That's attention to detail and top flight standards.
The reasonable (for sushi) prices sure helped in forming this review, too.
Everyone also bids you goodbye, too. It's a small gesture that used to be in every restaurant, but it stands out in today's corporate vacuum.”

I also enjoyed the brownie dessert that was topped with ice cream and scooped whipped cream. Oh my goodness gracious delectable. I also decided to order a slice of carrot cake to go and enjoy for the next 2 days. I was pleasantly surprised by the dessert being sent home with me as compliments from the management. The burger is rich with fat and cheese, but the dill pickles skillfully cut the richness and balance it out. “O'Hennings is truly a hidden gem. I tend to go either Tuesday or Wednesday nights. The bartender, Sheila, is the sweetest person. The drinks were poured perfectly, and she got everyone at the bar to play games. Due to its location, I was sort of hesitant to go in, but once you step inside, it's very inviting and calm. The parking lot is well lit, and theres a Taco truck right outside with their own seating area, or you can take your food into the bar. The only downside is that it's kind of dated inside.”

I’m not going to lie, first impression was a small trailer with a table to eat right in a gas station parking lot but All that fades away once you begin eating. The Clamato base and perfectly chopped veg and cilantro and tons of good size shrimp! They are not skimpy but generous to a fault in my opinion than most restaurants will offer and topped with ripe avocado slices! We were served both tostada style tortillas and saltine crackers and napkins and soup size spoons. The 32 oz tall cup was rimmed with Michelada Sal con Chile! PERFECTION in a cup. The proprietors are clean cut, nice uniforms and very accommodating and friendly and bilingual. We will return because there was nothing preventing us from becoming repeat loyal customers. The menu is extensive too! Bravo! Enthusiastic thumbs up! Well done! The 32 oz was large enough for 2 people to be satisfied (on this occasion). Try them once I guarantee you will be satisfied too”

When I take them, its definitely not a cheap dinner. we spend just under $200. I order the same thing every time for the special. This last time I went in the chef refused to make the change I always ask for. I'm just not a fan of spicy tuna so I ask to switch out the spicy tuna for spicy crab. this one particular chef just wouldn't do it. That's fine, but I feel like it should be equal across the board. It's not right as a loyal customer I have been ordering the same thing for SO LONG, and then one guy just didn't feel like doing it. A little disappointing but oh well. I came to Jin instead :)”

“This may have just became my favorite taco spot!! Met with smiles at the window, I had questions beyond my Spanish capabilities and the lovely woman’s english, yet the cook/owner/ man behind the counter was so descriptive and patient. Tuesday had tacos for a Buck!! So I ordered some carne asada and el pastor. I also needed to try the rice and beans, they tell a lot about a business. We added two canned Pepsis and for under $15 fed both of us well. The asada tacos were perfection!! Melt in your mouth perfection, the produce was fresh, the salsa was dynamite, and I could have put down a dozen. El Pastor was delicious only dimmed by the excellence of the asada. Then the tell all… the rice and beans l… they were done by a perfectionist taught by a grandmother, or Abuela in this case. Whole pinto “pot” beans were seasoned to perfection and the rice was what I’ve been searching for since my favorite restaurant closed a few years back. If you haven’t tried this truck, Do It! After hearing the love coming from the cook as he described what things were, I’m coming back, going back, may never leave. There’s so much more I need to experience. I’ll keep you posted. Good no no, I take that back, excellent food!! Great prices! Lovely customer service!! Don’t miss out!!”

Since I just wanted something small to get moving without overdoing it, I went with a small extra hot caramel macchiato. It was absolute perfection—piping hot, smooth, and hit the exact right balance of rich espresso and sweet caramel.
