“We have been to this Sizzler several times and the food is always great. The salad bar is one of the best I have been to. Always fresh and fully stocked. Today our server was Oscar who was pleasant, attentive, and friendly. 5 stars for Oscar. I spoke to the general manager Lorena to let her know what a great restaurant she was running and great staff she has. We will always stop when in the area.“

They have an option to get Ezekiel bread for your toast, they have sugar free syrup, and Himalayan pinks salt for those that care about that like me. My favorite there are the omelettes and their potato's are delicious! There's so much to to choose from. “Stumbled upon this gem while in town for the weekend. It’s a wonderful old school diner with amazing service and good food as evidenced by the consistent rotation of guests coming in and out. The pancakes, French toast, eggs and sausages were delicious and made exactly in the old school no nonsense way I’m looking for in a diner. After mentioning to the waitress that I overheard her mention chilaquiles to the table behind us and that I was bummed I hadn’t noticed them on the menu before ordering, she brought me a small plate so that I could try them. You only get this kind of genuine service at mom & pop places like this. Besides the service, the eggs were perfectly scrambled, the pancakes were fluffy, everything was fresh. Will 100% be back here next time I’m in town.“

“I ordered my food to go and one burger was gluten free ( do to allergy) there was no indication on the packaging and the toppings weren't correct . I called the restaurant to give feedback on the gluten free order and they were fantastic offered to remake. We did decline the offer and scraped off what was incorrect and figured out which one was gluten free.. The manager was fantastic and offered a refund on the burger. This was my first time there and the food was delicious I will definitely be back here again!!! The management took care of my issues and was Amazing“

“We had a reservation for a table of 8 at 5:30 on a Saturday night. We were promptly seated upon our arrival. They were immediately there for our drink menu and appetizers. We were let know that it was our table for the evening if we wanted. From the drinks to the acoustic assemble to Johnny Owens the night was fantastic. “Hey there! I just wanted to share my recent visit to Ethel's Old Corral. My husband and I went there for a late lunch/early dinner after our eye doctor appointment. We had a fantastic time at this charming, old-fashioned, western-style cafe. The moment we stepped in, we were greeted warmly by the friendly hostess/waitress who led us to our table. We chose a cozy spot by the window with a great view of the Tall Indian that marks Ethyl's on Alfred Harold Hwy. The waitress handed us the menus and took our drink order right away. Our drinks were served quickly, and we placed our food order with her. I ordered the pastrami sandwich with fries for $15.00, while my husband ordered the deep-pit dinner priced at $15.00 also. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed the pop and country music playing on the jukebox. I couldn't help but notice how the new owners had significantly improved the place, including new floors and overall cleanliness. It was my first time back at Ethel's Old Corral since Ethel herself worked and owned the place. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the fantastic work of the new owner. (Check out the pictures!) Our food was served quickly and was piping hot. I have to say - Ethel's pastrami sandwich was one of the most delicious sandwiches that I've had in a long time! The meat was piled high, and the sandwich was perfectly juicy without being too greasy. And those crinkle-cut French fries were amazing! I don't know what the chef did to them, but they stayed hot throughout our meal. As my husband put it, "These fries are addictive!" I also had a taste of my husband's Deep pit meat, and let me tell you, it was smokey and tender! His dinner came with a roll and a cup of beans with cheese. I was so engrossed in eating my sandwich that I completely forgot to take a picture until I had already eaten half of it. Oops, my bad! Don't worry, I did take some photos of the cafe's interior. It's so charming and clean, you'll love it! Overall, Ethel's Old Corral was the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat. We had a great time, and we're definitely coming back for other meals. “I live about an hour away in a small town and frequent Bakersfield for doctor visits and shopping, and we always try something we haven't had before. But we are going to return to this place! We were sat right away at 5, right before it got busy. Our server was Cheryl, she was also tending the bar and was very busy but never missed checking in on us or making sure everything was perfect, which it was! The spicy strawberry jalapeño margarita was perfect, and we had a HUGE portion of poke nachos and then the chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich. Food was great, it was a clean and friendly environment and Cheryl was awesome. We can't wait for another Dr appt to eat here again!“

I’ve witnessed first hand the equally amazing service and respect their staff provides. As gay couple I haven’t experienced such respect in a Bakersfield restaurant before. I had a $10 Philly Cheesesteak which was much much better than $22 7 inch crappy overpriced sandwich from pink lunch truck SIZZLIN BUNS on Rosedale food court.
