Served with a big blob of white butter n raita- I highly recommend it! If you are in Bakersfield make it a point to visit this place. Keep up the good taste n service!“
“I was craving Italian food and was out of town for work. I was driving by downtown and stumbled upon Mamma Mia. It was about 5:30pm and it was starting to get crowed (highly recommend to make reservations before showing up). I walked in without a reservation and luckily was seated. The server was so friendly and informative on the menu and drinks. He recommended the dishes and they were beyond delicious. I definitely will be coming back when I'm town. “I believe it's a damn good sign if 30 minutes prior to opening there are many cars outside waiting. The hubby and I found ourselves among at least 6 cars of people waiting to eat the infamous Chef Lino's delicious food. I had been hearing about the great food at the hole in the wall bar for many years. I decided to finally give it a try. I've been to the Pour House on a Saturday night and watched live bands play but this was the first time trying the food. I got the Chicken, Swiss and Avocado burger and the hubby went with the Cuban Sandwich. Everything was delicious and I will definitely come back and try the Philly cheesesteak sandwich.“

“We had a reservation for a table of 8 at 5:30 on a Saturday night. We were promptly seated upon our arrival. They were immediately there for our drink menu and appetizers. We were let know that it was our table for the evening if we wanted. From the drinks to the acoustic assemble to Johnny Owens the night was fantastic. We danced, had cocktails and a great dinner with not a single disappointment. I highly recommend this place if your in Bakersfield. Hard to find a good dinner and entertainment. Not only that it was the wholesome family experience. We are older but enjoyed seeing everyone participating. Will definitely go back.“

“I took my husband for his birthday. He was disappointed with the bone in New York. He said it was very grizzly and not what he typically gets when we go to KC. My filet was delicious but a lot smaller than I've had in the past. The baked potatoes weren't even cooked to perfection. He did love the Oreo cake. The staff was friendly as always. It was just a bad night in the kitchen.“

“I love the Don Pericos on Oswell St on the Eastside of Bakersfield. We go quite often, (my 2 daughter's & son) usually go there on Sunday mid mornings . So that we can take advantage of the Brunch that is served deliciously made and fresh off of the grills or stoves or whatever utensils they utilize there to prepare the food. I haven't a single complaint from the servers to the freshness of the food the right temperature of the place as well as the food. When serving yourself the many options that they offer for breakfast you can order omelets However you like them and one of the chefs will prepare them right in front of you while flipping the eggs in the pan one handed. Also the cleanliness of the restraunt is immaculate. Which is remarkable considerimg it is an all you can eat and serve yourself eatery. plenty of parking as well as for the handicap. And it is such a family oriented place. So on any day of the week whether it be for family gatherings or business brunches. I rate this place a top ten! Minus nothing! Top top TOP of the line“

“Very quaint and elegant to eat in Bakersfield. I ordered the filet minion with butter garlic and parmesan. Mmmmmmm. It had su h great flavor in every bite. Vegetables were cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes were whipped and prepared with an excellent blend of seasoning. Very small area for a golf course country club but nice e and quiet. Use to be for members only but they are open to the public. Has a dress code but still can be casual. Service was excellent. Enjoyed the conversation. Definitely a place to dine for a special date.“

“Pyrenees is a well known and long appreciated restaurant in Bakersfield. A group of old friends planned to meet to celebrate a birthday recently. I was not able to join them but wanted to do something special for the birthday girl. I called the restaurant to see what could be arranged. A lovely woman answered and when I explained my wish, she told me about the amazing sounding desserts and I made my selections, put them on my card and thanked her for being so helpful and kind. When my friends arrived they were ushered to a table set with a pretty bouquet of a variety of garden roses and wished the birthday girl a special day. She took pictures as well. Of course it goes without saying that dinner was the usual excellent Basque family style food and the desserts got rave reviews. For me the best part of the experience was the kind, efficient and very thoughtful staff person who assisted me and then went the extra mile adding the beautiful roses. Now Pyrenees will forever be my favorite of the excellent Basque food restaurants in Bakersfield.“

“If you like dark divey bars this is your spot. It's been around forever. It's located on 19th Street in a rather seedy area of downtown Bakersfield. Low lighting, dark wood walls and the well worn old fashioned long old wooden bar with the mirror behind. Drink prices are very reasonable. They had a BBQ that afternoon and have parties here and there. They have a regular crowd and are a great place to people watch. They have a very diverse clientele with a lot of characters. It was a Sunday afternoon, I had lunch out with family and just wasn't ready to go home. So off I go to the Mint. I hadn't been here in years. I was hoping to run into a few old friends. I'm so glad I stopped in. Rome was behind the bar doing her thing. I was just chatting and catching up with her when a couple of old friends came over to say hey as well. I spent a leisurely afternoon catching up with old aquatints and soaking up the ambience.“

Kimberly did an outstanding job deserves praise.I ordered their basic cheeseburger with fries. It was pretty good. It is way overpriced at $18 but nevertheless it was good, just not worth $18.My friend ordered the sliders, and he said they were very good. Lunch and the service were exceptional.Downtown is filled with restaurants everywhere. I hope management takes note and realizes that their cheeseburger is overpriced .“

“This is quickly becoming my new favorite place! It's a low key chill bar where you can have good strong drinks for a reasonable price and listen to the jukebox or sing karaoke on certain nights. The crowd is always friendly and the bartenders know how to handle business. I usually go in the evenings for after dinner drinks or an end of the night stop. Arlo is great! He knows how to make a drink, keeps the bar clean and gives good customer service. I even had an issue once with my debit card and the Bartender Stacey as well as the owner/manager of the joint went out of their way to help me get it resolved. The owner/manager called me himself to apologize for the error and ensure I got my money back. I thought that was really classy. You can tell everyone that works there really enjoys their job and takes pride in it which in turn makes this a fun safe local hidden gem.
