“The Botanist is a downtown treasure…such a charming atmosphere that reminds of restaurants on my travels to Europe. Emily our server was so personable and really made us feel welcome. She recommended the Botanist Loaded Fries and they phenomenal..everything we ate and the seasonal hand crafted cocktails were suburb. Definitely give this place a try you will not be disappointed!

They have cornhole, AMI, and a patio for chillen. Drinks are cheap here… Like the cheapest. This bar is better than The Highland Cafe, Longbranch and the train bar if you are searching for a cool spot. It’s old so don’t expect too much.“

“the food is amazing which is why i keep coming back to this place with that being said food is different for everyone so give it a try and make your own decision. customer service was good too. everyone was friendly. one thing i will say that i did not like was the fact that my food came out first rather then my appetizers which i believe is the incorrect way of doing things right? by the time my appetizer came out i was already half way done with my food i kinda regretted getting the appetizer..... we ordered the camarones dorados ( fried shrimp),the pasta brava,the 7 mares (7 seas) and 2 large drinks 1 horchata and 1 agua de piña and no refills( i don't know if the refill is free but i doubt it) total was right under 90$ for our food not including tip. will go back there again soon“

“Came in with a friend just to get some lunch. We checked and they said food is served 24 hours a day. I’m not a gambler, but there were a lot of gamblers present on this day.On their special menu, they had a Cobb salad special. I ordered that.The salad was exceptionally delicious, and I would certainly order it again.My friend ordered their Caesar salad, and he said it was very good.Our waitress did an exceptional job of keeping our iced teas full and answering our questions. We will be back again very soon.“

“Mexicali was busy but quickly got a table on a Sunday. They have a brunch menu separate from their regular menu. You have to try it...amazing food. I ordered small menudo and it was honey combed and delicious. The tamale was juicy big and flavorful . Brunch orders come with fresh mexican bread and choice of dessert. The meal is your pick of four choices. Yummy. Champagne is also offered with brunch.
Our server was Marianne and she was very attentive. Will be back. Best in Bakersfield.
