“Coming from a guy who lives in the barbecue capital of the world, North Carolina this is by far some of the best I’ve had in a very long time. The pulled pork sandwich was absolutely amazing. The brisket sandwich is just as awesome as the pulled pork it may be a little bit better. I’m in town for a couple days and a local told me to go try this place my God I’m glad he did because I will probably be eating here the rest of the time that I’m in this town. Great job guys your food did not disappoint and for anybody else that tries this place. Make sure you get a sample of all their sauces. I don’t know which one it was that has a S on the top of the little container but that was by far my favorite because it’s a little bit spicier than the rest again I say great job guys I didn’t leave a stitch left and I ate both sandwiches“
“Food was good. Prices were outrageous for the Portions . Easily can be around 30-35$ per person for burger, fries, and a drink. Good food though just the price is not justified, especially with the size portion burger was smaller and similar to In-N-Out sizes.“
“My coworker bought me a Jumping Monkey and it was delicious. We decided to order some again for the office. Looked at the menu and seen the Heath Mocha. Instantly sold. The small drive thru downtown is cute and cozy. The staff is great and gets you in and out.“
“The best pizza and garlic cheese bread in town! Once you taste their food you will not go anywhere else for pizza! The service is phenomenal and they treat you like family. My kids and i are obsessed with this hidden gem. Follow them on instagram for weekday deals @zeppospizza you might think all pizzas are the same but trust me when i tell you this spot is the best. It’s a must try and I highly recommend it to all friends and family! Don't take my word for it & go try it out yourself!“
“Seriously the BEST burgers and fries in town. I feel like the best way to describe it is that in and out and Freddie's had a baby. My fav is the passionfries - it's basically animal style fries with a patty & cheese on top. If I could give more stars I would.“
“Excellent place for sandwiches. Specially when you are looking for vegetarian. I was not a fan of sandwiches until I tasted theirs. Excellent service and good taste. Recommend all.Vegetarian options: Excellent veg sandwichesKid-friendliness: Employees are kind to the customers“
“The staff is 5/5, incredibly kind and welcoming. The restaurant is bright and comfortable, giving you homey vibes but still clean and tidy. The Chilango Benedict is among the best eggs benedict dishes I've ever had. Highly recommend stopping here for great food and friendly folks!“
“Here from out of town. Not in the most nicest part of Bakersfield but our barista was so knowledgeable and truly had a passion for making great coffee. Their speciality is Cuban coffee. As someone who has personally been to Cuba, it was pretty spot on! Definitely felt like I was transported back to Havana. Will most likely visit again if I find myself back in town.“
“One of the best burgers in Bakersfield. Service was great. Food truck was in a church parking lot which was great because there was other options. I'm so glad I got a burger. I got a double cheeseburger fries. It was great. The burger was so good.“
“Stumbled upon this gem while in town for the weekend. It’s a wonderful old school diner with amazing service and good food as evidenced by the consistent rotation of guests coming in and out. The pancakes, French toast, eggs and sausages were delicious and made exactly in the old school no nonsense way I’m looking for in a diner. After mentioning to the waitress that I overheard her mention chilaquiles to the table behind us and that I was bummed I hadn’t noticed them on the menu before ordering, she brought me a small plate so that I could try them. You only get this kind of genuine service at mom & pop places like this. Besides the service, the eggs were perfectly scrambled, the pancakes were fluffy, everything was fresh. Will 100% be back here next time I’m in town.“
“Come eat here, you won’t be disappointed. The menu has something for everyone, at the same time it isn’t overwhelming. This place takes the time to present the plates in a manner that is pleasing to the eye. More importantly they use high quality ingredients that are sure to please your taste buds.I’m addition to to great food they take the time to create a fun and comfortable atmosphere. The play an eclectic mix of music that isn’t obnoxious. You’ll here old favorites and new songs that will become your favorites. Most importantly NVG has put together an unbeatable team. You will be greeted with a warm and friendly face. Your server will be excellent in every way. Temo, Zenia, Olivia, Carrie, Haleigh, Krystal and Brittany are part of the excellent and friendly team at NVG.Give them a try. Whether you’re a local or just passing through you will be glad you did.“
“Nancy the 502 Cafe owner is amazing! She personally delivered to my friend door-to-door the Honey Lavender Latte that I ordered (long distance) as a surprise for my friend's birthday. (My friend has mobility issues.) How KIND was that? And so professional. It was Nancy's idea! Nancy helped to make my friend's birthday really special this year.“
“I had the Carne Asada quesadilla, which was packed with all kinds of flavorful ingredients, as well as the fish taco. The fish taco was fried with mastery, and really came together from the first bite. I would certainly return. If anything, I would've liked to have had a sour cream sauce to dip the quesadilla in.“
“Great coffee place! I was able to relax since the seating was comfortable. The atmosphere was great and peaceful enough that I was able to get schoolwork done. The best thing above all was the coffee was delicious! I got the coconut latte, which was handcrafted and perfect.“
“This dessert food truck is an addition to the taco food truck joint in Rosedale Calloway area. As a crepe lover I knew this place is a must try. I ordered the House crepe which has everything in it. Its about 10.99 as I can remember. The almond toppings were complimenting the whole texture of the crepe. I loved it. They also have strawberry milk/drinks in their menu which I would to try next time. I will definitely go back!“
“On this day I woke up with wanting to taste a good, freshly, roasted coffee so, I thought of Bakersfield Roasting Co. as my brother had mentioned them to me! I looked at their reviews and decided to go with the Hawaiian Mocha because I saw that this taste like an Almond Joy Chocolate! It is literally an Almond Joy chocolate in a cup! So delicious! I can’t wait to try other flavors here!“
“Large, tall space with a patio, industrial/brewery decor, expanding production facility in next two spaces in the building; about 14 own beers on tap, few guests beers, and few cans, good WiFi, flights of 5 available at a reasonable price, decent beer, excellent burger, few TV screens with ESPN but thankfully without sound so one can have a beer in peace“
“Absolutely the best BBQ place in Bakersfield. Everything is fresh, smothered in bbq sauce, and this place has amazing service!! I love the tri-tip sandwich and the mac&cheese burger. You can get anything bad here. It's such a nice place to eat and meet some locals.“
“Probably the best tacos I’ve ever had. Cool little hole in the wall restaurant. Only a few tables inside so be prepared to order your tacos to go. A few tables outside. But totally worth it. Looking forward to my next trip to Bakersfield so I can come back to this awesome spot!“
“Let's start by talking about the staff, friendly and accommodating.i ordered samosa's they came with red or green sauce, she explained they where all homemade so i had to try both. The food was piping hot when it was handed over, i honestly couldn't pick between what sauce i liked more. She also included a sample of the butter chicken. Now I can honestly say my husband was against branching out and trying something new, but one bite of the butter chicken he was 100 percent ready to order from them again. Thank you Sk Indian not only did you get my husband to try it but I can honestly say this was the best Indian food I have ever had. I wish I could give 10 stars. The setting is out doors, but tables and chairs are avil to sit and eat. If you're not in the mood to eat there try them on Uber eats. Prices are more than reasonable for the amount of food you get. This is a must try!“
“A nice healthy breakfast was what we wanted, and we found it at Cafe Smitten. What we loved: the tomato bisque and the quinoa salad were lovely, and the earl gray cream pie -- while not healthy, was absolutely delicious. What could have been better: I need to stop ordering avocado toast in restaurants. While it was well executed--the toast and the egg were cooked perfectly--I want a bit more avocado, especially for the price point.“
“This place had so much to select ice cream, churros, Aguas frescas,creps,etc...Will definitely go backParking: Huge free parking lot easy in and outKid-friendliness: Lots of benches for everyone to sit this place has plenty of sweets for kids“
“Small little restaurant. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was very good. We had the combo fajitas and a side order of ceviche. Came out with warm tortillas that I swear were the best I've ever had. No sour cream or cheese with them, but did get guacamole. Service was very slow. If you are in a hurry or on a lunch break I wouldn't recommend. We say for 20 minutes waiting for our order to be taken. Once it was taken food came out quickly. Took another 15 minutes for us to get the check when done. Worth a visit, just plan to have time to wait.“
“Today was our first time here and we absolutely had a great experience overall. Food was delicious and full of flavor. The service was on point (server was Angelica). I ordered the Pastrami Burger and my wife got the Monterey Chicken Club. Both were very good, and the fries were really good as well (lightly battered and seasoned). We also got the mimosa flight, which was really nice and a good deal for $25. Our server was genuinely nice (not the over the top, fake friendliness), and checked on us regularly. I 100% recommend this locally owned/family owned restaurant.“
“We make it a point to stop in Bakersfield for at least 2 to 3 days on our way to Southern California or Vegas. There are some interesting things to see in this area.We always stop at a dessert ? shop called the snow shack. OMG there snow cones are out of this world, even when compared to snow cones in Hawaii. They have so many flavors as well as different combinations. Other desserts as well. Great on any day, not just hot.Their ice machine produces this incredible fluffy snow ice. Not slushy type, not crushed ice, just a very smooth type of snow. Our favorite flavors are lime and red hot "cinnamon type" and coconut. They have a main store that is open all year, as well as summer season shacks all over town. We travel at least every 2 months to get our fix.“
“The beer selection is the BEST in town. They travel and hand select the best from microbreweries up and down California. If you want to support local and enjoy some great beer, this is your spot. Say hi to the owners, they are probably sitting at the bar waiting to cheers! Or hand you an UNDERBERG!! Cheers! ?“
“Great little spot! I haven't been here in quite some time, but I came across their Instagram advertising a beer shushy flight for $12 and couldn't pass it up!I came by Friday night for the special and had a great time. Luckily, it wasn't too busy, so there were tables available inside.Slushies are great. I also ordered the "peach on through" sour, which is pretty good.I wish I didn't live on the opposite side of town so I could frequent Dionysus more often!“
“I went in there yesterday with my 4 month old son to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately my boy was not too happy to be there. He was very upset at one point and everyone there was so understanding. I felt so guilty to have him crying but thankfully all the employees were so nice. I desperately wish I got the woman’s name but a younger waitress (a mom of a 1 year old) came up to me to let me know how great of a mom I was. Words can’t describe how thankful I am for her kindness. I will be recommending this place Kid-friendliness: Read my comment“
“Sunday afternoon late lunch was great with delicious fig burger, Mac & cheese balls, and a German Pilsner. Service was friendly even though it was a little slow. They were busy, but our waiter was attentive and let us know the status of our order frequently. The Fresno fig burger medium rare was cooked perfectly and had such a great taste with the sweet and savory. And the Mac & cheese balls were cheesy and so yummy. Would have been great to sit outside on such a nice spring day, but the patio was full. Next time!“
“Today is a most special day being MLK Holiday, added bonus of NFL playoff games. Burgers sounded real good. We were sure In-n-Out wouldn't be that busy WRONG the drive thru had at least 25 cars patiently waiting for their burger of choice. There was no waiting for me, a parking spot right in front was open. I was through the doors in a flash. I entered with a smile these stores are so well run all the workers were busy as usual. Almost all the patrons had smiles sitting side by side, some were standing visiting no politics no world issues. When their number was called their smiles were even bigger. Annika who took my order was cheerful very friendly. My number was 73 they were serving 59 my wait went by fast watching people come and pick up their orders never saw a frown. This Rosedale store is bright clean and fun. I headed out the doors and the line of cars was gone the two team members who had been taking orders we're headed in with smiles . Our double doubles we're delicious onions and lettuce were crisp our fry's were hot with a light touch of salt Bentley finished his doggie burger patty before we finished ours. We all had a great meal at a reasonable price Always enjoy seeing smiles on everyone's faces at In-n-Out on Rosedale Hwy Stop by for a great meal“
“Me and my S.O. Travel from Southern California to Northern California often for family, we have now stopped here twice and it's now my absolute favorite food stop on our travels. The experience is amazing from start to end, the service is outstanding and very personable. that Carries all the way through until you are leaving and the person working the register waves you off and wishes you safe travels and happy holidays. Its not often you find a gem like this.. reasonable prices, amazing food, and terrific helpful service. I will definitely return as often as possible and look forward to it each time.“
“The Grill at Brimhall Square is usually brimming with the life of people wanting a decent place to rest and eat and people watch. Watching people walking, gaming, shopping or whatever. Grilling your friends about what's happening in their lives over a bite of grilled cheese on a hamburger and bun. Careful to keep the chatter low. You don't want listening ears from close tables to hear your private conversations, unless you do want them to hear, you know, the good news you can't wait to tell the World. You're feeling much better, like a miracle has happened in your life; You've been healed! "Let's Eat"!!!“
“Panini Kabob Grill is my new favorite restaurant! The food is so flavorful and the prices are reasonable. The servings are nice and healthy. The food presentation is beautiful.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available. Good clean food.“
“Just had breakfast at Bakersfield Racquet Club home of The Barnyard at Match Point Grill. I ordered Huevos Rancheros topped with Chile verde. It was delicious, The tortillas was topped with Black Bean spread with over medium eggs covered with a nice tasty rancheros sauce. I added Chile verde and the pork chunks were nice and tender with a flavorful but mild Chile verde sauce. I would highly recommend having breakfast here. I'll be back to try their homemade hash for lunch!“
“Great food!! Nice feel for an older place. I've heard a lot about this place for years from a coworker and finally got the opportunity to go. Good food and friendly staff! If you're on the fence about lamb...try the lamb dip! Amazing! Never had Tongue myself, but got it to go, gonna give it a try. I hear its similar to beef. So, looking forward to that.“
“This place needs so much more recognition. Walking in, the vibes were amazing and welcoming to all. I ordered a banana caramel iced latte and a jalapeño croissant. Needless to say they were amazing. As cheesy as this sounds, the coffee left me with a smile on my face. Adding to this, the hospitality from the worker was so warm and kind. She is the type of person you'd want to find in everyone; a loving and understanding person.“
“This was an amazing little Mexican restaurant that I never knew was there. The place is nice & clean & the staff is wonderful & friendly. The atmosphere was great. It was nice & cozy inside & we didn't even have to wait to be seated. That was awesome ??.. The food was great & I enjoyed my beef tacos ? with rice & beans. The chips & salsa were good & they kept us wanting more & refilled them anytime we asked. My buddy had his enchiladas ? made to his specific liking. They make them however you want them. Appetizers were amazing as well. This little place didn't disappoint one bit. I would say to anyone that they should give this little place a try cause I found it off the hook & the food was delicious. I will definitely be coming back here for a meal again. I loved it here. ‼️Parking: They had a handicap ♿️ stall parking spot, so I was happy about that.Wheelchair accessibility: There is plenty of room for me to get in and out of my vehicle“
“Whether you love hot or cold coffees or tired of the chain coffee shops like Dunkin or Starbucks, this is the place to stop. Huge drink menu; for a coffee lover it's like a grown adults candy store . Love your drinks are made to order; don't mind the couple minutes wait. The concoctions work very well together and bring out the natural flavors. Ordered the grizzly bear .... Can we say yummae! Gets them taste buds popping and ur body energized and ready to go!“

“I visited On the Vine with some friends recently. The owner was very nice and we enjoyed a bottle of wine and charcuterie board. The atmosphere is very casual and a great place to chat. There is a bar area with TVs if you'd like to watch a game. I will definitely be back for another girls or date night.“
“I enjoy their pulled pork sandwich, and their rice pilaf side is my favorite. There is a bit of a wait for the food, but it's because everything is made fresh. There isn't a whole lot of seating, so I take my order to go typically. Parking is on a dirt lot but there is plenty of it.“
“We recently stopped by for an early morning pick-me up with a couple of Banana flavored macchiatos and some Hawaiian French Toast bites with some lechera drizzled on top. It was all very delicious. Service was quick and friendly like always.“
“I'd like to begin by saying that the staff is patient and very well informed about the details of the items on the menu. Very helpful and informative. The food lives up to its reputation. If you are seeking a elevated taste with sophisticated ingredients. Chicago's Pizza is the absolute choice! Well maintained and sanitized atmosphere for the family to dine in. The perfect gift for a family night or take out!3/3/247:50PM- Angel“
“One of them spots. You gotta try everything on the menu. The two meat plate make you tap out and come back "late nite" (you going to sleep)A definite frequent, hospitalitywas so inviting.. And a pickled cucumbers....ok I'm done.“
“Bakersfield diamond in the rough. Not to be confused by the other El Puesto's in town. The worst part about this place is where it's at. Been recommending this place to other locals, but I understand that it's a tough choice at first glance. If you go in the fall it's nice and cold so bring a sweater. The food I thought was pretty great. Their plates, cups, and such fit the theme very well. You can feel the Mexican culture brimming! Try the birria, and the shrimp. Definitely the way to go. Our server was very attentive, really took it to the bases recommending his favorites. It was a busy night but he handled it like a champ.“
“Came in for the Tuesday buy one get one free aguas frescas. First time here and I had a great experience. The owner is super nice n great customer service. I had the 3 taquitos de papas in a cup n delicious. Hubby had a torta. He said it's delicious. We both loved the red salsa. Deff will be back again“
“The French burger is the gold standard. Since I made this review the bread has changed from Pyrenees sourdough to a French style bread. This has completely changed the flavor. Still the same cook…new owners strayed from the “original”.“
“If you like dark divey bars this is your spot. It's been around forever. It's located on 19th Street in a rather seedy area of downtown Bakersfield. Low lighting, dark wood walls and the well worn old fashioned long old wooden bar with the mirror behind. Drink prices are very reasonable. They had a BBQ that afternoon and have parties here and there. They have a regular crowd and are a great place to people watch. They have a very diverse clientele with a lot of characters. It was a Sunday afternoon, I had lunch out with family and just wasn't ready to go home. So off I go to the Mint. I hadn't been here in years. I was hoping to run into a few old friends. I'm so glad I stopped in. Rome was behind the bar doing her thing. I was just chatting and catching up with her when a couple of old friends came over to say hey as well. I spent a leisurely afternoon catching up with old aquatints and soaking up the ambience.“
“We started off with the mushrooms, which were really good. The crust on the mushrooms was nice and crispy, and the dipping sauce was perfect. I had the pecan crested halibut tacos, and my husband had a Hudson Burger. I thought the flavor on the Hallett. Tacos was delicious in complimented by the till the wine sauce. I husband said his burger was good and the Patty was super thick, scary reboth go back. We also took a raspberry cake in a cup togo. Oh my! Chef's kiss!“
“Just found this local (Bakersfield Ca) brewery and had great beer and seltzer, or was that a cider … idk but was amazing! Dog friendly, which I love! Who doesn’t like drinking with fur babies? Billy was on-site, friendly and got us playing fun games and singing karaoke. Definitely a place to check out.“
