The iced vanilla coffee was also tasty and not too sweet. The ham, egg, and cheese croissant breakfast sandwich was delicious, warm, and crispy! The shop is super clean and organized! “With KoRn’s success in the late 1990s Bakersfield’s only real claim to fame one shouldn’t expect much from the local culinary scene, yet as luck might have it Rosedale Donuts compares favorably to other like-shops in Los Angeles or San Diego despite a lower price-point.Presumably Cambodian owned, daily hours from 5am until 3pm finding all varieties of fried Dough made fresh on-site, it was before sunrise that shelves were found stuffed while two elderly gentlemen sipped Coffee near the window discussing their Christmas plans.Fast and friendly in terms of service, eight items including an oversized oilless Fritter boxed up for just over $12, Yeast Rings and Twists were fluffy beneath typical Glazes while Chocolate Cake ate more moist than many even before the addition of Frosting or Sprinkles.Not to be mistaken as an artisan shop, most everything assuredly made from a mix, proper frying temperatures see Cake excel whether standard or cog-wheel while Buttermilk Bars are absolutely flawless thanks to the application of Glaze while still warm thus allowing some penetration below the surface.“

BUT, the young lady at the counter was so helpful and asked the baker if he could powder up some donuts for me! The Angel Donuts team at the Hageman store saved the morning! Not only that...the service was over the top when, after learning that there was a situation in the parking lot that had me concerned, the young lady (I wish I would have gotten her name!) kept an eye on me until I made it safely to my car! “Great custom orders and service. I was so pleased with some triceratops cupcakes they made for my dinosaur baby shower!!! Not only were they so cute, but the taste was amazing as well. I've used Sugar Twist a few times for custom orders and will continue to use them as my first choice for a bakery. They also have the best brownies!“

“We make it a point to stop in Bakersfield for at least 2 to 3 days on our way to Southern California or Vegas. There are some interesting things to see in this area.We always stop at a dessert ? shop called the snow shack. OMG there snow cones are out of this world, even when compared to snow cones in Hawaii.They have so many flavors as well as different combinations. Other desserts as well. Great on any day, not just hot.Their ice machine produces this incredible fluffy snow ice. Not slushy type, not crushed ice, just a very smooth type of snow.Our favorite flavors are lime and red hot "cinnamon type" and coconut. They have a main store that is open all year, as well as summer season shacks all over town. We travel at least every 2 months to get our fix.“

They now have several different satellite shops in Bakersfield, along with their main bakery on Union Ave.Try their thumb print cookies, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like them.“

Thump cookies were 3+ days old which is a bit odd to continue to sell so I did not buy the kids the small cookies. Wish they had more availability.“

And it happens in such a short amount of time that it’s kind of pitiful. For example, they raised the price of a box of their thumbprint cookies by $2 in ONE month.
