“Stopped here while driving down to San Diego. This food truck is located at the Chevron/Prince Palace stop. This mom and pop truck is amazing. The service was great and people were very friendly. We ordered the Pani Poori and the chef, who looked like a mother/aunt, prepped the food fresh! The sauce had just the right amount of spice - explosion of so much flavor! The snack was just enough to get us through the last leg of our trip. So glad we found this pace, will definitely go back next time we're driving through. Also - the Prince Palace stop was very clean too! Newly remodeled and had clean bathrooms.“
“This place is always so nice and kind to me and my sister. We've been getting the lunch buffet every few weeks for several months now, and every time it's been excellent. Thank you guys for the good service, good food, and for giving us a great food place we call our spot ?“
“Food here was very good. It was just like eating at home. We pretty much had everything on the menu - Dal Makhni, Aloo Ghobi, and the Punjabi Kadi were the stand outs. The place is a dhaba so don't expect anything fancy. The girl at the cashier was very sweet and hospitable.“
“Beautiful restaurant with a great food, amazing atmosphere and great service. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. And also the prices were very reasonable,I tried gobi pranthaaa that was delicious and taste like home made food. I will recommend it to all of you please visit this place .“
“I was in Bakersfield for the first time this year and since leaving Kern county I have soooo missed Indian food. I picked this place because it is new, I never ate here before, and because it opens earlier than the others. I was hungry at 10am. First off, yes, it is literally located in a gas station. This is the third Indian restaurant I have eaten at that is located inside of a gas station. That makes it a little bewildering at first. You walk in and you see mostly the regular chips, soda etc., and you're thinking here? ? ? There is an area with fairly nice tables but if I lived in Bakersfield I would probably get it to go, because, gas station. I got biryani which was excellent! This is a very flavorful dish, that isn't hot or spicy. The spices tasted fresh and savory. If you are new to this cuisine and you haven't tried anything beyond butter chicken I recommend every version of biryani. The portion was very generous.“
“Suitable name for the place. The food was delicious and home-like. The family that runs it are really sweet and treat you like family. We had the alloo pyaaz and paneer paranthas. We also got Bhindi and daal and fulka roti. Everything was made fresh and really hot. We also got chai, which was perfect end to the meal. They gave us free kheer to each one of us that we had not ordered but they said you need some dessert. We definitely over-ate but would love to go here on every trip and recommend everyone to try their food.“
“The food here is delicious. It's Authentic Real Indian food Customer Service is great, Friendly ladies. The serving portions are generous and I had enough to take home. Me and Hubby will definitely come back and happy that this place is close to home.“
“Started the meal with a tasty mango lassi followed by the delightful Shahi Paneer. The samosas were delicious, and the chole had just the right amount of tanginess and spice. The experience was definitely worth it, and the host made us feel very welcome.“
“This place is amazing! I had the classic Bombay Burger and curry fries. I didn't realize that I needed this fusion cuisine in my life! The Bombay Burger has a spice blend I can't put my finger on - and it's delicious. What helps is that the meat is of high quality and it's cooked well. It's moist and not burnt to a crisp. It's an all organic beef patty without the gristle and other weird bits we tolerate at other restaurants. It's matched by condiments that are not short on flavor. Because the patty is so flavorful you need the onion, tomato and cucumber to balance the patty and savory sauce. The french fries are also amazing. The curry flavoring is not overpowering. It's essentially the equivalent of seasoned fries, but better. You keep reaching for more because it's a refreshing change! Finally, the service is 10/10! They are sweethearts. I called my order in last minute right before they closed, and they had it ready in no time. I will definitely be going back!!!“
“Let's start by talking about the staff, friendly and accommodating.i ordered samosa's they came with red or green sauce, she explained they where all homemade so i had to try both. The food was piping hot when it was handed over, i honestly couldn't pick between what sauce i liked more. She also included a sample of the butter chicken. Now I can honestly say my husband was against branching out and trying something new, but one bite of the butter chicken he was 100 percent ready to order from them again. Thank you Sk Indian not only did you get my husband to try it but I can honestly say this was the best Indian food I have ever had. I wish I could give 10 stars. The setting is out doors, but tables and chairs are avil to sit and eat. If you're not in the mood to eat there try them on Uber eats. Prices are more than reasonable for the amount of food you get. This is a must try!“
“Had an amazing time with family. Took a brunch with family. The parantha was amazing and shahi paneer and saag too. Loved that they had makki roti to go along with saag. Also really nice setup with indian style manjhas. Gives the pind vibes.“
“I've been seeing this place in my last few visits to the mall and I'm glad to see we have some cool, new options! The staff is extremely friendly and there was someone handing out delicious samples of butter chicken with rice and Kulfi ice cream bars. I ordered the samosa burger which is really a samosa in place of a beef patty. The samosa itself was delicious! There was way too much mayo and ketchup on it which took away from the amazing flavor and presentation, but I would come here again and try some other menu items.“
“The best ever. Authentic Punjabi food I had Amritsar kulcha and veg sandwich it was so good and we even got complementary chaap taco they started and the chaap literally melted once in mouth. Their food is so amazing. The owner as well he was so nice and welcoming. A hidden gem fr !!!“
“Must visit. Very friendly n very welcoming staff. Since we wanted Jain options, they catered to our request n served us unhesitatingly. We ordered Dal soup, Aloo n Mixed paratha, Roti n Aloo Methi Mutter. The parathas finger licking delicious- the best I have eaten after India. Served with a big blob of white butter n raita- I highly recommend it! If you are in Bakersfield make it a point to visit this place. Keep up the good taste n service!“
“This place is at the back of a gas station. We had our doubts when we pulled in, but decided to give it a try. The food literally blew us away, kids (meanest critics) were asking for more! The food is made to order and prepared right in front of you. Yes, there is a bit of a wait, but all good things require patience. The saag and chana were some of the best we’ve had, better than most places in the Bay Area. Do give them a try and you won’t be disappointed!“
“Finally a pure veggie kwality Indian restaurant in Bakersfield!! India food is wayyyyyyyy more than just tandoori and butter chicken and am really glad this place opened up in Bakersfield. I do not have to drive to Los Angeles anymore to get my chaat and idlis and faloodas and indo-chinese food. We have tried almost everything on the menu. They have a wide variety of veggie food, mostly street food: chaats (dahi puri, dahi bhalla), mumbai style street food (wada paav, misal pav, sandwich, frankie) south indian (idli, dosa) , north indian (chole bhature, chana puri, shahi paneer) and indo-chinese (veg manchurian, hakka noodles, momos), and deserts (faloodas, indian flavor ice creams). Believe it or not, we had all of this in the last 2 weeks and everything was yum !! I was so excited about the food each time, didn't take pics. We did mostly uber eats so far and got everything well packed and on time. Can't wait to dine in at some point.“
“Amazing service and amazing food!!! Would recommend to all, I come here for every special event and any day I need delicious food to make my day better! All staff is friendly and kind and service is fast! The environment is wonderful and you never feel rushed!“
“Good food, nice friendly service. Didn't care much about the pakoras, but everything else that we ordered was really good. We stopped by this place on our way to Las Vegas. We also liked that it's in a market with a lot of other food options and a Starbucks that was open till late.“
“We had a wonderful experience at Indian Oven Restaurant this Friday . The food was delicious, especially the tandoori soya champ. It was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The spices were well-balanced and the portion was generous. I also enjoyed the naan bread, the dal makhani, and the mango lassi. The service was excellent, too. Our server, Sean, was attentive, friendly, and helpful. He made sure we had everything we needed and gave us some great recommendations. He also brought us some complimentary gulab jamun for dessert, which was a nice touch. The restaurant was clean, cozy, and inviting. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxing meal. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic Indian cuisine. It’s one of the best restaurants in Bakersfield!“
