I stopped by here with my family on a road trip. The man who worked there (I’m assuming he’s the owner) was so nice and took his time explaining the menu to us and answering any questions we had. He even offered to put out the big sun umbrellas at the tables in front of the shop so we could sit in the shade to eat which was really kind. The food was really good. I’m not from the Bakersfield it’s an interesting city to say the least. I live in Colorado and the food there is marginal ay best. I’ve had food so bad it seemed intentional, or a flock of failures are in the back.Five years has warped since the last time I eat Oxtail, much less Jerk Chicken. I had never had Jamaican food, but decided to give it a try one day while I was at Petsmart. I don't regret it at all! Not only is the food delicious, and not overpriced. The people who run this small kitchen are humble, kind, and friendly. Their food feels good when you eat it, you can feel the love and pride put into their cooking.
