I had never had Jamaican food, but decided to give it a try one day while I was at Petsmart. I don't regret it at all! Not only is the food delicious, and not overpriced. The people who run this small kitchen are humble, kind, and friendly. Their food feels good when you eat it, you can feel the love and pride put into their cooking. Even if you live across town - drive over. I love the jerk chicken and cabbage, and fried plantains. I will order extra cabbage and plantains every time. I am so thankful for this local business and hope they are here forever!

I stopped by here with my family on a road trip. The man who worked there (I’m assuming he’s the owner) was so nice and took his time explaining the menu to us and answering any questions we had. He even offered to put out the big sun umbrellas at the tables in front of the shop so we could sit in the shade to eat which was really kind. The food was really good. I ordered the combo plate with half jerk and half curry chicken and enjoyed them both. It came with rice and peas, cabbage, and plantains. The prices were VERY reasonable and he was super generous with the portions. Great food, great value, great customer service. They also have a drive-thru option. If I lived closer, this would absolutely be one of my regular spots. Highly recommend!Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian plate with rice and peas, plantains, and cabbage with carrots. My mom got it and enjoyed it.
I’m not from the Bakersfield it’s an interesting city to say the least. I live in Colorado and the food there is marginal ay best. I’ve had food so bad it seemed intentional, or a flock of failures are in the back.Five years has warped since the last time I eat Oxtail, much less Jerk Chicken. Me,being a gluttonous I-ordered the Oxtail, Jerk Chicken then last but not least the stew veggies.Was it good you wonder? Let’s just say I wanted to propose to the young lady that served me. Yet, all I could do was give her a $60.00 tip and that made her a little uncomfortable.In actuality I wanted to give her a$100.00 yet that would’ve been me blatantly flirting. No, on a serious note the Chef and the staff are above reproach. Thanks for making my visit worthwhile. Next month maybe… ??Vegetarian options: I’m not a vegetarian I just got that option because I’m greedy and I lack self control.Parking: It’s fine

I don't know what the food tastes like prior to this day but I went in for some jerk chicken and that thing taste like some fried chicken rubbed against durt.And my authentic Jamaican I don't know if there are a lot of Jamaican people that live out here but I would never go to this restaurant again.....

Possibly the best food you can get in Bakersfield. Tried their jerk chicken, curry goat, and oxtail and they all were top notch. Highly recommend oxtail if you can get it fri, sat, sun, otherwise the curry goat is just as good if not better. Everything is well seasoned and cooked just right. The plate combo is an incredible deal. There is a level of authenticity and and care that I couldn't find elsewhere.Parking: Plenty of spots in front of the parking lot next to weinersnitchel. Has a drive thru and sit down tables on opposite sides of the structure.
