“We had a great experience there for lunch today on 8-31-26. Billy was our server and he personally made sure that we were taken care of. The hostess was very friendly and got us our silverware and sat us down. The atmosphere was nice and inviting and quiet. We went at the perfect time around 2:30 pm.
It felt like we had the place to ourselves. We hadn't been there in quite a few years so we just decided to stop in and I am so glad we did. We had orange chicken and Lo mein noodles and a lunch special of crispy honey chicken over fried rice with veggies and a house salad for 14.99. Everything was so delicious. Thanks Billy for the great service today we had a wonderful late lunch.“

“We went to Great Castle for lunch, and as usual, the food was fabulous! We started with the sizzling rice soup, then had the pot stickers and a few other dishes. Everything was fantastic, and the service was good.

It’s a little pricey, but honestly, it’s well worth it for the amount and quality of food you get. There’s so much that we even got to take some home.

We didn’t bring the kids this time, so it was actually nice and relaxing. They’re going to be mad when they find out because this is one of their favorite places!

I also love that when the new owners purchased the restaurant, they kept the original recipes from the previous owners. You honestly can’t even tell the difference—the food is still just as good.

If you’re ever on this side of town, it’s definitely a nice place to stop for a meal. **5 out of 5 stars!**“

“I ordered bbq pork lo mein and egg rolls. Lo mein plate is huge, very good value. Pork has a good char flavor but not very strong. Egg rolls had a perfect airy crunch and soft inside, sweet and sour sauce on side paired nicely. Service was nice and fast, no issues. Overall great place, highly recommended“

“My family and I have been eating here for years because it’s the closest one to us. But after trying other spots around town I can say this is the best take out Chinese spot in Bakersfield. “My husband and I found the bamboo cafe. The very first day it opened. And have been eating there ever since.
Their food is wonderful.The quantities they give you is great! The taste of the food is always the same. So if you love something, you know, you're going to be enjoying it every time you get it.
While the kids were growing up, I would stop in and pick up meals.For everybody and then head back up the canyon. I always had enough food to feed them for 2 days.
We moved, a couple years ago. Each time we fly back to Bakersfield, the first place we go when we leave the airport is to the bamboo cafe.“

“I come here all the time. This is my favorite place in Bakersfield. I live in Taft and I drive an hour just to eat here. The food is AMAZING, always fresh, the staff is nice and the portions are enormous.“

“I just moved in, looks very organized and management is on it, I am happy with it so far. I was going to put four ? s because of no kitchen in the unit but I used the community kitchen and it's not that bad. I have a roof, bed,fridge, ac, safer than the streets. Yes there are people trying to get to take over units but their pics are in the community room and from what I see we are taking care of each other. The location is far out there but there's public transportation and everyone can use their insurance for medical rides. Oh and the case manager here is really good too, they're helping me take care of other things in my life as well. And Maintenance is on top of things too here, I put a request in to fix my smoke detector that beeped ad she came within hours! They don't have way out rules , easy to follow. Clean ...beautiful scenery. Good job green gardens. They're are lots of people with dogs here and it's pretty pet friendly I'm proud to say I never have stepped in dog doodoo, never even seen it, people here are doing a great job cleaning up. Five stars for sure. Idk no one has posted pics before of this place so here are mine of my place“

“Came here not knowing anything of this location. I'd see it when we'd pass by. I was pleasantly surprised by it. I don't know if it was the owner or an employee but the lady that helped us was just so nice. I got the chow mein, orange chicken and jalapeño chicken. I wasn't disappointed with any of it. They also had a chili sauce that was sooo good. We'll be going back for sure“

“Small place to eat in, I suggest to get it to go. The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside, great testing just a little on the salty side so I asked the cook to make the chicken with the lest salt. Chinese food is good also and the catfish.“

“I’ve only been to this location a few times, but whenever I go, the worker who usually serves me is Jocelyn. She is amazing with her service, and she goes beyond being a great worker. Not only was she quick with serving my food, but she even recommended some items she believed I would like since I was having trouble ordering. I would recommend getting the hot orange chicken from this place.“
