“Food is as expected in a premier sushi bar that puts in the effort. What stands out to me is the staff, who welcomed you the moment you open the door, the immediate service when you're seated and the food being on the table before you know it.
The server was never more than five minutes away from checking in and they made sure we lacked nothing.
They also clean the chairs and floor along with the table, whether it looks like it needs it or not. That's attention to detail and top flight standards.
The reasonable (for sushi) prices sure helped in forming this review, too.
Everyone also bids you goodbye, too. It's a small gesture that used to be in every restaurant, but it stands out in today's corporate vacuum.“

“I drove past this restaurant while visiting my sister in the hospital. I’m not from the area but thought I’d get some take-out. It was fresh, hot, and good sized servings. I had Pad Thai and added crispy tofu, as well as the garlic green beans. Delicious!“

“Took my family and we all loved it! My apologies for not being as quiet as your other customers (we were a large group). I don't believe anyone made rude faces or made us feel uncomfortable. There were several teens at the table and my family was visiting from out of town. We were just really happy the food and service was great. Thank you so much! Your staff was so welcoming and we truly appreciate that.
*portions are a good size. 1 roll fills the average person up. Everyone who ordered ramen at our table needed a to-go container (prices are reasonable)“

“This is one of my favorite places to go in town~ They always have the friendliest staff and their food never disappoints! Their new yaki noodles and tazuna rolls are really great. I loved their tazuna roll because I got to build what I like in it, since I always have the hardest time choosing between what roll I want. Their tea is so refreshing to drink! I got the mango black tea and it was definitely the perfect thing to have in today's hot weather. Great place to go for a casual lunch or dinner :) <3“

“Denny is the best sushi chef! I live in LA and every time I go to Bakersfield that's the place I go, unfortunately. I'll be there tomorrow and he's not going to be there. Oh well, till next time.

“The two separate times I have came here it was not busy enough for how good it actually is. I ordered the shrimp and chicken hibachi twice now and the flavor is beyond good. The portion sizes are great. I can not ever finish my plate and have leftovers for lunch the next day! You have to try!“

“We came in for lunch. Eloy was our chef and he was good and quite entertaining.
I had the steak and chicken, comes with a salad, fried rice and fried vegetables. I could only eat half of my meal. I ended up taking the rest to go.“

“Went to the mall for some last minute gift shopping for the wife and stopped at this place to eat: food was great. Had the beef teriyaki with veggies and steamed white rice. Food was prepared fresh right in front of you and portions were enough for 2 people. Everything tasted delicious and was steaming hot. Staff was friendly and fast. Only drawback was at the mall seating was limited but did eventually find a stop. Has been a while since I went to the mall. Was nice to sit and eat and relax and people watch. Definitely would go again“

“The business itself is nothing fancy. The food is solid. I had a Birria quesadilla and an Horchata drink. The quesadilla was flavorful but nothing that would stand out from other places that serve this kind of food. The Horchata was very good. The rice and cinnamon came through and it too thick.“

“I f I enjoy the chicken teriyaki tempura bento box everything I tasted was good it tasted delicious as well as the egg rolls that were crispy. Listen to great place to bring your kids and your family to relax have some good Japanese food and just sit back only Friday or Saturday night“

“I live close to Umi so I go in a few times a week for the Umi Special. My family and I go in at least once a month and my kids LOVE sushi! When I take them, its definitely not a cheap dinner. we spend just under $200. I order the same thing every time for the special. This last time I went in the chef refused to make the change I always ask for. I'm just not a fan of spicy tuna so I ask to switch out the spicy tuna for spicy crab. this one particular chef just wouldn't do it. That's fine, but I feel like it should be equal across the board. It's not right as a loyal customer I have been ordering the same thing for SO LONG, and then one guy just didn't feel like doing it. A little disappointing but oh well. I came to Jin instead :)“
