“My husband was craving Teppanyaki so we came to Yamato on a Saturday night and it was pretty crowded but since we really just wanted the food and didn’t necessarily want to see the “show” we were seated pretty quickly at a nice spacious booth. The servers were very friendly and attentive. We got the hibachi steak and shrimp and the hibachi steak and scallops which were both delicious. The fried rice was extremely flavorful and the portions are generous. The side of veggies was absolutely amazing. The price point is also very good. Some teppanyaki restaurants are extremely overpriced and Yamato is priced fairly especially for how much food you get. The atmosphere is fun and lively and perfect for celebrating birthdays, graduations, etc.

“Hole in the wall teriyaki place. You order at the counter, you pick up your food, you clean up your own table after eating. Easy free parking lot or street parking. They have a lunch special for $11.95 that includes chicken and rice with salad. They also have specials A, B, C and D that are around the $15 to $20 price range. I had the special C that had white rice, a big piece of chicken katsu, two pieces of chicken teriyaki, salad, two small onion rings and two dumplings for about $15.95. Not a bad value. You get a teriyaki sauce and hot sauce on the side. Their teriyaki sauce is very good here! The serving is very generous. I was not about to finish it in one sitting.“

I brought my friends here a couple weeks back and they both loved what they got (two half-n-half Korean corn dogs, 1 order of gyoza), and I've been consistently getting the teokbokki (is that how it's spelled?) for however long it's been. Every bite is an absolute explosion of flavor. The fish is incredibly fresh and delicate, the ingredients are perfectly balanced, and the flavors are so complex and layered — they literally unfold in your mouth. You can really tell that the people here understand what authentic sushi is supposed to taste like.

Everything is prepared beautifully and with so much care and attention to detail. The ingredients are extremely fresh, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for this level of quality.

To me, Sushi Kaen feels like a little piece of Japan in Los Angeles. This isn’t just a place where someone rolls some rice and fish together and calls it sushi. There is real respect for Japanese cuisine here, and you can taste it in every bite.

“This is a hidden gem in Castaic! I was blown away by how delicious the Tonkotsu Black Garlic ramen was. The pork was cooked perfectly, the eggs were phenomenal, and the broth was hearty! I am from LA and have been to many delicious spots, so I have a knack for finding authentic ramen. This is by far the best ramen in Santa Clarita that I have tried. I also got the brown sugar milk tea with boba and that was delicious as well!“

On this occasion, the man working the counter had a very pleasant demeanor. I ordered the Hamburger Cutlet, and my Mom got the Pork Cutlet. You get a complete meal. Both cutlets came with a side of shredded cabbage, and sides of Miso Soup, Takuan, Rice, and a dipping/topping sauce. The presentation was very nice, the cutlets were placed on grill plates so they don't sit in grease which is great. I tasted some of the Pork Cutlet and it was crunchy, tender, and juicy. My Hamburger Cutlet was the same, and it was pure meat patty, no fillers here. Overall, dining here is a great value. You get restaurant quality food at a reasonable price. And, customer service was excellent. The gentleman working the counter really was extremely nice and was a big factor in our positive dining experience.“

It's a very busy location with many eateries and shops. Plus this store is small. They were busy and it felt very cramped. Also there aren't many tables for seniors or the disabled. There are only two available. The rest of the tables are too high and have stools. Not good for someone with bad knees, like myself.“

“Walked in and was immediately greeted, the food came out pretty quick and was so delicious and flavorful. I got some extra teriyaki sauce and some chili sauce. The only negative thing I would have to say is that the floors looked pretty dirty, but I did show up about an hour before they close.
