“Sushi Tomoki is the best sushi I've ever had in my life. I was only in town yesterday for one day and Sushi Tomoki was absolutely the only place I was going to eat. Their fish is so fresh with great flavor. I would fly in just to eat there!“

“First thing first, the sushi is really fresh. We got the toro, salmon belly, and the yellowtail belly. Saba is a little fishy. The rice is a bit mushy but good enough.

The cooked food is not as great. The agedashi tofu has too much breading and taste average. Kaiju tar tar is okayyy.

The service however took forever, and they never come to check up on us. Servers reach over to get dishes for other tables. Maybe they are short staffed but they should still handle us probably.“

“Fresh, healthy food w generous portions. I had the hana salad w chicken and the iced matcha cloud latte. The salad was fresh and their sauce/condiment bar made it extra tasty. The matcha was super yummy, on par or better with any specialty coffee/tea place. The Okinawa sugar made it elevated, though I ordered it less sweet. Will def be back!“

“Masa-san serves chef's choice, and the food is fresh and delicious. Eating here is an extremely delightful experience. The sweet shrimp with eggs is one of my favorites. Always finish your meal with at least 1 (maybe 2 or ...) of his blue crab rolls. The crab is carefully hand-pulled, the rice is warm, and the seaweed is crisp. You won't find that combination of quality and easy dining experience anywhere else in the Valley. Please try it!“

“Easily the BEST Sushi in SoCal. Been to many high and low, NOTHING compares to this. Incredible rolls, perfect fusion of sauces and pairings/toppings, pricey yes, but superior in every way. Much better comfort and variety than other version waaay down the road on Ventura Blvd. Their mushroom soup is to die for, and they have not only a soy sauce but a YUZU bottle on the table!“

“Hole in the wall teriyaki place. You order at the counter, you pick up your food, you clean up your own table after eating. Easy free parking lot or street parking. They have a lunch special for $11.95 that includes chicken and rice with salad. They also have specials A, B, C and D that are around the $15 to $20 price range. I had the special C that had white rice, a big piece of chicken katsu, two pieces of chicken teriyaki, salad, two small onion rings and two dumplings for about $15.95. Not a bad value. You get a teriyaki sauce and hot sauce on the side. Their teriyaki sauce is very good here! The serving is very generous. I was not about to finish it in one sitting.“

The owner (at least, I assume he's the owner bc he's the only one I've seen every single time I've come in) (edit: manager?) is a total sweetheart, and the food is delicious! I brought my friends here a couple weeks back and they both loved what they got (two half-n-half Korean corn dogs, 1 order of gyoza), and I've been consistently getting the teokbokki (is that how it's spelled?) for however long it's been. I'm hoping to try the fried chicken at some point, but for now the cupbokki in particular (same thing but smaller serving) is my go-to post-library dinner :) Please eat here!!“

Today, however, we ordered the Spicy Miso and a Chicken Ramen—and honestly, they were absolutely delicious. “Love Jo&Go Sushi. They saved me when we first moved to LA and while the house was being remodeled.

4 years later... it's still as good as first discovered. It's a neighborhood gem inside the Korean Greenland Mrkt, which btw, is also awesome.

Must try is the salmon bowl, the salmon slices are so tender and buttery... they give you a crazy amount of salmon over the rice and seriously it's enough to have a 2nd meal! One note about the bowl... I'm not a fan of drenching really good cooked rice with sauce, so I always order without the sauce. The rice is not sushi rice which makes it even more delicious... the rice is always perfectly cooked. You get a miso soup and a cute little container of pickled radish (delish). I would love to know where they source the fish... it's like being in Japan, it's so fresh.

“Pretty much everything it is always the best and freshest fish in town! The best oysters on the half shell, Uni, yellowtail belly, the seafood salad is really delicious, (as well as their salmon skin salad)! Another favorite is the ELhand roll (it’s almost a meal in itself)! You really cannot go wrong with anything you order there! Five stars for sure!“

“Sushi Katsu-ya in Studio City is easily one of our top three favorite sushi restaurants. We come here 1–2 times a week, pretty much every week, and it has become our go-to sushi spot.

We usually keep our order pretty consistent: crispy rice with spicy tuna and a bunch of cut rolls. The cut rolls here are honestly some of the best we’ve had anywhere. Our favorites are the creamy salmon, spicy yellowtail, spicy albacore, and spicy tuna. Every one of them is consistently fresh, flavorful, and well made. From time to time we’ll switch it up with some of the specialty rolls or nigiri, and those have always been great as well.

The quality for what you pay is excellent, especially considering how consistently good everything is. After coming here as often as we do, that consistency is a big reason we keep returning.

But as much as we love the food, the staff is probably the biggest highlight for us. At this point we know pretty much the entire team, and everyone—from management and the hosts to the servers and chefs—is genuinely kind and welcoming. They always come by to say hello, welcome us back, and take great care of us. The service is consistently excellent, and there’s a warmth here that you don’t get at every restaurant.

We genuinely feel at home when we come to Katsu-ya. Great sushi, great value, an amazing staff, and a place we look forward to visiting every week. There’s a reason we keep coming back 1–2 times a week.“
