After a recommendation I visited Benji's while visiting Bakersfield. Food was served quickly and family style. Our waitress has 15yrs with the restaurant. We did learn too late that souffle must be ordered in advance, which was a shame since made to order souffle is rare!
Although the food is terrific, I personally miss the Basque resturants of old and the sitting down to a family style meal of what they want to serve me.
Benji's if beautiful food, but if the Basque name wasn't on the sign It could easily pass as just another quality restaurant.
My opinion certainly doesn't take away the quality of Benji's.
