BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse

I made a reservation, got there 10 minutes earlier, they said they didn't have my reservation despite showing it to them, then proceeded to wait to be seated for another 30 minutes and watching everyone who got there after us get seated instead on my gf's birthday.

Last night my wife, my son, and I went to BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse for the first time. I have lived in Bakersfield my whole life and somehow never tried it until now. The menu looked incredible. The photos looked amazing. I was genuinely excited to finally go. But what we got was a complete letdown. The food was edible, but that is about the best I can say. Everything tasted processed and manufactured, almost like it came out of a box or a bag. The pizza crust was absolutely terrible. It reminded me of frozen store-bought pizza, not something made in a restaurant kitchen. The avocado egg rolls tasted like they had been frozen and reheated. Even the mac and cheese balls, while crispy, only seemed fresh because they were likely just dropped in a fryer before serving. I kept looking around and wondering if I was missing something. The restaurant was packed. People were eating and smiling, and yet none of it tasted like real food to me. It felt like eating in a place that had forgotten what freshly prepared ingredients even are. I left disappointed and honestly confused. What has happened to the art of making food from scratch? I wanted to love this place, but I just couldn't.

Bjs is uselessly really good, but lastnight the servers kept taking orders to the wrong tables , kept bringing g our table wrong drinks ( tea and soda). Food was spot on like always. I will deffently be back, just maybe not on a saturday.

The Brussel sprouts were top notch but whomever made the pizza 🍕 forgot to put the cheese 🧀.

BJ’s is a great lunch spot, especially midweek. Their Wednesday loaded burger specials are unbeatable—perfect for a midweek treat! 🍔✨

Came here to celebrate our son’s 20th birthday. Our server Bonnie was so sweet from start to finish made my son feel special on his day. She definitely made that day special for all my family.

Went here to celebrate with my family, had not only great good but wonderful service. Sam was very attentive and we appreciated his suggestions. We'll definitely be coming again!

Sam was the best waiter i have ever had!! And i’m not just saying this, he actually is really really great! Very nice & caring!! He checked up on our table often but not annoyingly , in a very gentle way. I appreciate his service & the food was great. 1000000/10 ASK FOR SAM! 😊☺️ THANK YOU SAM!!!!!!

I normally never come here, foods good, atmosphere is okay but the servers make it worth it, Nikita C’s amazing energy, attentiveness and knowledge made it a great experience, very accommodating to my dietary restrictions and friendly, the pep in his step made this bland Monday joyous, on a scale of 1-10 Nikita made our experience a 20
