We had a very decent experience. You walk into the hotel and the bar is on your left. Big bar with comfy leather chairs. Tons of high top tables with servers to help you. Open seating. The menu does not have the vegetarian stuff clearly labeled. They have 3 items that are labeled vegetarian but then they also have other veggie items not labeled…. Like the pretzel bites and margarita pizza. We even double checked with the kitchen, items have cheese and butter which for a vegetarian is fine, nothing is vegan on the menu. Decent service, good margs, good happy hour

I like the Padre hotel. And having a drink in the bar is fine.
But the food was terrible. I rarely give a negative review but I would want someone to warn me. My husband ordered fried chicken. He got a tiny (literally) drumstick and a small thigh. For $22. PLUS, it was way overcooked.
AND, we waited 40 minutes from the time we ordered until food came. Very few patrons so that was strange.
Very disappointing.

I went there last night for a special dinner with my son. No one greeted us for some time and finally tracked down a server to ask how / where to sit. After being seated our server proceeded to tell us about all the things they were out of… it was about a third of the menu. Even when we did place our order one of those items ended up not being available, as well as the appetizer we wanted. We settle on the salmon, but after 40 minutes of not getting food, or seeing our waitress, I had to track her down again. After checking when our food would be ready, she said 4 minutes… it took 20. When the food came out it was wrong, vegetables were ice cold, and the salmon tasted like a frozen dinner from Walmart. Horrible experience, terrible food, completely mismanaged. Will not return.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO SLEEP!!! I am so mad right now. We picked this hotel to stop and get rest on a long road trip, what a mistake!!! Its basically like im sitting in a f$%^% rave! Blaring loud music, base is rattling the walls, and we were told "I can give you ear plugs..." wtf is that going to do???

Edit to add: I spoke to the front desk this morning and right away they blew it off saying "ma'am, its down town Bakersfield, its going to be loud"... be f&%$^ serious!! Im 40yrs old, I've stayed at 1000's of hotels in my life. Many on the heart of Vegas strip, big party areas, and NEVER in my life have I dealt with something like that! She said its not the hotels responsibility... um yeah it is! They are 10000% aware of this MAJOR issue and it IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to warn there customers. We didn't even want this type of room, we asked for two king rooms, and the host at checkin said this option would be better. I hope this place continues to lose business, until they start taking some responsibility.

Little gem, completely unexpected. We had the Spring Salad and the grilled cheese. Simple but delicious fresh food. Fast and friendly service. Good background music and a lovely spot. Loved it!

All I can say is next time I’m passing through I know where not to stay.
They have valet parking that gets extremely aggressive to citizen journalist on the sidewalk and management doesn’t seem to care not realizing that this valet clown is a liability.
