It's busy busy for Saturday lunch. Stopped by on our way to Sedona. Vegan portobello sandwich: 3 stars. Kudos for having a vegan sandwich. Loved the sprouts and mushroom. Just needed a little salt. Couldn't taste the vegan pesto too much. Bread was crispy. It was just a little bland for me. Could be my taste buds. Steak wrap: 3.5 stars. had plenty of flavors for me. However hubby who ate most of it thought it was a bit too greasy. Music was good. Pie holes: comes in variety of flavor. They ran out of the blueberry. So got strawberry, lemon, caramel apple. 3 stars. Fillings were good but too much pie crust for me. They had matcha pie so of course i had to get it. 5 stars. It tastes like my Royce matcha chocolate. Yummmmmm

Way overpriced. This place is more flare than flavor for sure. If you call flare the unseasoned hipster culture of the early 2010s. A wannabe gentrified establishment right in front of the Amtrak to attract potential bourgeoisie buyers from LA. But despite the fact that this place is designed like an out dated San Francisco cafe in 2013, they still bank on the low ratio of farm to restaurant food culture to frozen food franchises in Bakersfield. Meaning Cafe Smitten food cuts corners of costs by using cheap mass produced products while still charging metropolitan standardized prices. So the next time you feel like drawing a mustache on your finger for ironic selfies with a vintage bike, swing by Cafe Smitten to order a water and take photos. Those are the only activities this place is good for.

Smitten is good for their drinks, the only reason why I don't give it 5 stars is because the service LACKS. The cashier just walks up to you and stares at you expecting to just order... no how are you... or a smile. It isn't just one cashier/barista. It seems that that is a requirement... give nothing in customer service. Which sucks.

A nice healthy breakfast was what we wanted, and we found it at Cafe Smitten. What we loved: the tomato bisque and the quinoa salad were lovely, and the earl gray cream pie -- while not healthy, was absolutely delicious. What could have been better: I need to stop ordering avocado toast in restaurants. While it was well executed--the toast and the egg were cooked perfectly--I want a bit more avocado, especially for the price point.

I swung by for a drink on my road trip home. This was a really cute café. That also does full service food as well. My ice chai latte was very good. The café itself was really cute and extremely busy. You can tell it's a favorite of locals. If I lived close I would love to come here often

We stopped in for late morning breakfast & coffee. They also offer what looked like some tasty veggie sandwiches. We had the breakfast burrito (not totally traditional and veggie) and mushroom omelette. Both were excellent. They're doing brisk business and offer indoor and outdoor seating. Really cute place with great ambiance.

Food was VERY mediocre... I paid 60$ for 3 sandwiches and 3 coffees.... Service was good, nothing bad. The place looks like the word "Millennial". Personally, would not recommend.

My absolute favorite place in Bakersfield, hands-down. The delightful business name pulled me in; the incredible, nutritious, healthy, beautifully presented menu - - an extraordinary coffee, OMG, as well as delightful staff, all keep me coming back. Even the café, decor and design, including that amazing back patio with fire and fountain features are 100% delightful. I would move in if I could. Would love to see the small business expanded more locations.

Great place to meet with friends. You never feel rushed out. They have delicious drink and food options as well as some delicious sweets to choose from. Their self-serve infused water is always so refreshing. They have indoor and outdoor (shaded) seating available.

Girl charged me $8.50 for an iced latte. And I still felt obligated to tip $1, ridiculous.

This is the steak wrap with orange juice. The food was delicious and the service took a little while but was great.

Great and interesting food. Greek eggs were good. Mediterranean eggs had too much sauce/soup. Good bread but not toasted enough. Nice tea and sweets.

Cute spot. I have been to both locations now and had good service in both. Their ambience is really nice. I also had the bagel with egg & cheese. Really yummy!
