This place actually has Very Good food but is Horrible when it comes to having consistent days and times they are open!! Sad that it is so good but is a toss up as to when they are actually open so I had to give less stars. If they are actually ever consistently open they would get a well deserved 5 stars.

Catfish was not bad, but not the best. The greens were ok. I'll probably stop in if I'm hungry and near by but it's not a place I'd prefer. There are two other soul food places here in Bakersfield I'd rather try. Cornbread was not bad.

I ordered from there yesterday , and I don’t know about you guys , but when I’m frying fish or shrimp I’m not gunna use the same grease for my chicken. I order Lemon pepper wings and there were OVERCOOKED BURNT , I also order the shrimp regular shrimp they came out tasting toooo much like lemon pepper like really lemon. The fries were cold and I had like 13 of them and to top it all off THE FREAKING SODA SAID EXPIRED SEPTEMBER 2020 . Very disgusting I will never recommend this place to no one and they’ll never get my service again. I don’t care what nobody say there food is disgusting ??

Love this place, its clean, has polite pleasant staff, and provides quick service. The food is perfect, especially the fried catfish, yams, and collards.

Everything was "old-hand" delicious, like authentic "grandmother's" recipes. Sweet cornbread was especially yummy!

More of a filet of soul fan but the catfish was pretty decent. The shrimp had good flavor. My only gripe was next time I’ll be sure to tell em fried hardt please ? Me and hubby tossed it in the air fryer for a few and it was perfect. The chicken came crispy. The yams and greens were good. Going back for more. The Mac and cheese need some help. Good flavor but on the dry side. Def room for improvement. The customer service was alright. Service was quick. Hope this helps!
