I tiny country diner just minutes yes from the city. I experienced a warm welcoming atmosphere with regulars and people from the road, old 99, outside. The service was good, as was the chicken fried steak and eggs I ordered. The big breakfast included biscuits and gravy for my choice.

Well, I simply cannot break the 5 star streak Carla has here. Everything was so yummy wummy, and the food came out quick and hot. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive and our waitress was super helpful because I almost ordered a full hot mess and she warned me that it might be too big (the half hot mess was PERFECT for me). And everyone, even the patrons in this establishment were so warm and friendly. :-) It was a very nice early morning breakfast experience and next time we pass through Bakersfield area, we're gonna stop again. Our recommends are the Hot Mess (biscuits and gravy with hash brown and a spicy sausage patty, which was THE table favorite), the ham steak breakfast with country potatoes ("yummy, wonderful, so good" -my mom), chicken fried steak (another table favorite), and the French toast (okay... they were all table favorites!) thank you Carlaaaa love youuuuu

First, let me tell you, very rarely do you find a place that has 5 stars, that actually is worth the 5 stars. This place is one them. It's about a mile off Hwy. 99 surrounded by open fields. The food is amazing. We had the chicken fried steak, which must have been invented here because it's the best we ever had. Everything tasted as fresh as can be including the bacon and eggs. The service was fantastic and we were greeted by Carla who you can't miss since she has the prettiest smile and the friendliest personality. Give this place a try, I promise you will be glad you did.

If you want a homecooked meal, breakfast, lunch, etc. Then this is the place to go on the south side of town! The portions are generous and full of flavor!!!!Breakfast:The eggs were delicious, the bacon was for sure farm fresh, and the country-fried steak was to die for!!! It had just enough char and moisture to make you crave another bite, the gravy was the sweet spot for sure. Biscuits and gravy was its own meal and it was offered as a side ?! Sooooo good without the need to pepper or salt anything on the entire plate!They also have a classic Coffee bar where I'm sure many a deal has been struck and a story told! Quaint, with quick service and a homely vibe!
