If you want a Chinese home cooked meal made with love, Ching Yen is the place! We've been coming here for over a decade. The owners are wonderful and so sweet. The food is consistent and delicious. Their soup (all of them) is awesome. If you want to support a local family owned business that's been around for almost 40 years, this is the spot. Nothing fancy, but feels like home every time you go.

Authentic Chinese / Korean Chinese food here. Please realize it's a family run business & the family is getting older so service is not as fast but food is the most authentic Chinese in Bako when u go middle of opening hours.

Ching Yen is a hidden gem on the East side. My family has been going since I was a kid, and now my own children enjoy the dishes that Soo and her crew prepare.

The food is delicious. The service is superb, but they really need to remodel badly, especially their restrooms.

This food is phenomenal! I have never had orange chicken that is so fresh and tasty with real oranges in it. The chow mein, the rice all of it very very fresh and very very good. I give it a 10!

We were craving authentic Chinese food last night and came across Ching Yen. You can tell the owner, Sue, takes great pride in her food, and it really shows.

We started with the Sizzle Rice soup and Hot and Sour soup. Both soups were rich and delicious with fresh ingredients. We ordered the small bowls and each was big enough for two people to share one and have extra. We decided to try the Combination Appetizer platter which came with two of each appetizer and two dipping sauces. The Sizzling Beef Iron plate and Chicken Fried Rice had quality fresh ingredients. You could tell the pride that went into each dish.

Sue was a delight and expressed how much she enjoyed her customers. She made it feel like you’re visiting family for a home cooked meal. I’m a soup fanatic too, so I can’t wait to try some of the other soups on the menu. We’ll be back soon!

We ordered Thursday night 6/20/24, shrimp fried rice and egg soup. Both were extremely fresh and tasty and plentiful. Should you want Chinese go over to Ching Yen, you will not be disappointed.

Well, the owner was nice and friendly and her service was great. The food on the other hand was not fresh. The shrimp tasted rotten, the mu-shi pork was cold and over sauced wrapped in a too large and too thick shell. The shrimp dish that was supposed to be spicy was not at all. The shrimp fried rice had a good taste but like I said most of the shrimp tasted rotten. I think they used some old shrimp. The chow mein was OK my grandchildren ate it and they ate the shrimp fried rice. The sizzling rice soup was good. The pink lemonade tasted like it came out of a jug from Foodmaxx. The restaurant is not clean and the smell of raid roach spray is still in my nostrils. I had been wanting to try this place and I did. They need help to clean the place up. I was kinda scared I was going to have food poisoning after I ate but it has been 9 hours and I am fine other than the smell of pesticides lingering in my nostrils and throat. The truth is just the truth and maybe it will help.
