I used to love getting salads from this place because they were big and worth the money but now I tried to get the same salad and it was less than half of what it used to be and still the same price . Do not get the chef salad or garden salad not worth the money can't speak on the deli meats they smelled

As much as I wanted to give them all 5s. I couldn't. I love the place, it's really a home vibe. We were greeted immediately, and were helped withing minutes. The cashier didn't know what the ingredients were in the salads because she "didn't make them". Our bread was really dry, and kinda old tasting. I noticed some people had their food brought to their table and we had to go to the counter for ours. All in all. I might go back some day.

Our expanded family has been going to City Sandwich for a very long time.Unfortunately, we thought the bread would be fresh since it was a Monday.Typically the bread is fresh. Today it was absolutely terrible. We only ate the top bread on our sandwich. The bottom was just too dry. I hope today was just a rare thing. We will give it one more chance.

Greta sandwiches and the best biscuits and gravy in Bakersfield. Biscuits are perfectly fluffy and a great homemade white sausage gravy. Bottom line these guys understand flavors and know you can’t skip on quality. As good as a sandwich as there is in Bako!

Still the best sandwich shop since 1975. And now they've got sherb's ice cream which is wonderful.Wheelchair accessibility: It is very wheelchair friendly. There are no stairs or obstacles that would cause a problem.

Excellent sandwiches, I've been looking for a sub place this side of town that isn't subway.

They messed up each item of my order, first I didn't get my second sandwich, both sandwiches had no cheese on them. My breakfast bowl had egg that I was specifically asked if I wanted it or not and then gave me one ?.My frappuccino was just coffee and ice cream , no ice blend , but I had been there long enough, so I drank it .Mind you it's like 6 in the morning, and we are all just starting our day.But I don't even care cause they are just that good. I'll be back . I wrote this review just to show , we are all humans of trial and error, and when your business is just this good and awesome , we as repeat customers fuxk with you strong. ? Love this place.

Got the deep pit sandwich; it had pretty good flavor. Upgrade ($) the bread so you're not stuck with boring white, ask for your bread toasted, ask for the standard sandwich vegetables on top to give it some and crunch and then ask for green Chili's or avocado or peperoncinis to make it pop. If you don't get the extras or ask for the bread to be toasted you'll have a very boring, dry, uninspired sandwich. I went out to my vehicle to get a ketchup and hot sauce packet to add a little bit of tomatoy kick, as the only table-side condiments here are salt and pepper.Overall I was happy with the sandwich, but the Killer is the price. For a sandwich with the "upgrades," a fountain drink, and a mini potato salad it cost me almost $25. It was filling, it was good, but the idea of lunch for two costing almost 50 bucks is crazy.I know the management has changed and the name has changed, and I see they've added an ice cream bar, so all I can say is "good luck" moving forward. Coming here will be a infrequent treat as the price is prohibitive to making it anything more than that.

Yikes…ordered a BLT and what I received was horrible. The bacon was thick cut slabs of mostly FAT. It was almost more like pork belly because it was so fatty. After stripping the lean meat off, it was edible but so dry and just so disappointing for $13. I can’t imagine ever coming back to this place. I’m scratching my head over the positive reviews…what is everyone else ordering that tastes good here?

Found this sandwich shop on UberEats and decided to give it a try. The roast beef was a great choice, and overall the entire sandwich had great flavor with the added oil and vinegar. Their potato salad was delicious! Definitely a homemade taste over the heavily preserved stuff you get elsewhere. Also, I like that they don’t overdo the cabbage.
