For reference We went yesterday for a birthday. We went for the buffet. Some of us have been there before without problems.
There was 8 people in our party.
Now the food is fresh delicious and presents well. The location is gorgeous. The music is a little loud. Our unhappiness yesterday was the lack of attentiveness and the added 18% tip when the service was not worth a $41 tip!. We like to tip however not when our service is not to basic standards. Our party was the very first customers to arrive..the restaurant quickly got busy. We understand that part. However our drinks were not filled in a timely manner. We had to flag a server down. Just to ask for sodas our 3 coffees didn't get filled until we were about to leave. The server never smiled and we felt like the staff didn't want to be there. We served ourselves for the buffet so its not like they had to take our order and go make it and serve it. Its JUST Drinks!!!
When we went to pay I told the person at register that the $41 added tip for our table was Wild! Because our service sucked. She just gave me the Gen Z stare and then answered the phone. She didn't ask how to help or what happened. Nor did she ask if I wanted to speak to anyone. I looked at my family and said lets go. We spent hundreds of dollars just to serve our food and beg for drinks. With the many restaurants to choose from and spend our $ we wont be back. And As I see from other recent reviews not alone. Please read your reviews and see how you can do better.

I've had better Mexican food at Del Taco. Good luck trying to get the attention of ANY server. When I asked the bartender to let me pay my bill, HE had to search out my server. The music, while enjoyable, was very loud, to the point that I had to yell across the table so my wife could hear me.

Music is too loud, the times we have gone is to have dinner and during dinner we like to have a conversation. Well this is not the place to do so, also when they celebrate for birthday's it gets worse.

We chose El Puesto Cocina & Lounge to celebrate my partner’s birthday — and what a fiesta it turned out to be! From the moment we walked in, the decor set the tone: 🌹✨ rose-covered branches and glowing lanterns gave the space a magical, celebratory feel.

The food was just as impressive. 🌮🔥 Their birria tacos were everything you want them to be — rich, juicy, and paired with a deep red consommé that brought all the flavors together. Even the drinks arrived with tradition: 🥤🪶 refreshing aguas frescas served in clay mugs, each sip feeling authentic and refreshing.

My own plate didn’t disappoint either. 🌯🌶️ Hearty rice, creamy beans, and a perfectly stuffed burrito came alive with pickled onions and spices — the kind of meal that balances comfort with vibrancy.

🎶💃 And the atmosphere? Absolutely electric. From the Frida mural to the dramatic tree-root chandeliers, the artistry above us matched the mariachi’s melodies that carried through the night.

But the highlight, hands down, was the birthday surprise. 🎉🎺 The staff brought out a sombrero, poured tequila shots, and lit up the room with glowing sticks while singing and dancing around my partner. His joy in that moment made the night unforgettable.

El Puesto isn’t just dinner — it’s a full-on celebration of culture, food, and community. Perfect for making memories.

Poor service, food was not made correctly and rice and beans served with the meals was cold, same style dish was not consistent, one plate of enchiladas was deep fried to almost burnt, 2nd was soggy from all of the grease. Our daughter ordered cheese enchiladas and I guess the chef didn't know how to make them because they served her what looked like a quesadia deep fried in red sauce and was so spicy no one at the table could eat it. The waitress only came to get our order and never came back until she thought we needed to go boxes and gives us our bill as she was more concerned with catering to all of the people drinking instead of people eating there. Went during mariachi was performing there because it was my husband's aunts favorite thing and we were there to spend time with her but couldn't really talk because in-between the mariachi's breaks the place had music blasting so loud you couldn't even hear yourself say anything. Not a family environment even though it boasts it, poor quality food at high prices and a waitress that can't be found unless your downing alcoholic drinks, so unless you plan to go there to get drunk, expect a horrible time for you and everyone at your table.

Didn't get my food. Not sure what happened. By the time I got a server I canceled. Our party was already half done with food when i finally got someones attention. Not really a family restaurant for kids. We'll at least for me and my little one. Loud music server got to close for my comfort because they cant hear you when you order or ask anything. Tables are horrible and oddly shaped can sit comfortably

The food, service, and atmosphere were amazing! The reason I’m giving 2 stars is the manager was extremely rude. My little cousin is diabetic and we asked if they had the nutrition facts available because she needs to know how many carbs there are to know how much insulin to take. The manager came over and told my little cousin “ You should know how much insulin to take.” Our waiter had fo apologize for her behavior.

When we arrived at this restaurant, we were never greeted by a host. We asked a couple of times if they were still open or if the kitchen was open, but the host just looked at us and never answered our questions. That was the poorest service I had ever had in a restaurant. Management needs to train its staff better. If the restaurant business is serving us, the client, at least acknowledge and be polite.

Music too loud. Felt like a club not a restaurant. The restaurant deco is beautiful. The food was average. The waiter never tended to us. We waited over an hour for our bill.

Great service, and the music is wonderful. Sometimes, it is difficult to keep conversations with how loud the music can be, but it's still worth it.
