Happy Dragon has always treated me like family .from the employees to the owners. No different today! I had an amazing experience with server Daniel at the coffee location . Going above and beyond with exceptional interpersonal skills and expeditious service. Christian is doing great with this company. A True happy dragon with high quality food.

Got there at 5pm on a Saturday. No one there to attend us. A lady was in the back talking to someone but never came to the front.
After looking at the food trying to decide what to get, we decided to leave because the food looked dry as if it had been sitting there for a while and very little portions were there. Used to be a good place to go to but not anymore.

Cafe Express used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant—consistently flavorful with great service. Unfortunately, since the change in ownership, my experience has gone downhill, and after giving this place multiple chances, I’m consistently disappointed.

Most recently, I placed an order online and arrived to pick it up, only to find the staff and cooks tasting food with toothpicks and a sauce cup—completely unprofessional and unsanitary. No one greeted me when I walked in. When I asked about my order, I was told it had just been placed and to wait, followed by the staff going right back to chatting amongst themselves. The customer service at this location is seriously lacking.

As for the food: the orange chicken was the only item that was somewhat decent—an improvement from my previous visits. However, the kung pao chicken and broccoli beef both had an odd, unpleasant aftertaste. The chow mein was overly oily and bland; I even tried adding teriyaki sauce to help the flavor, but it still didn’t taste right.

It’s frustrating to see Happy Dragon locations opening up everywhere when the focus clearly needs to be on quality—better flavor, proper employee training, and real customer service. Expansion means nothing without excellence.

I have been there meny times before. This time 2 of us showed up at 4:15pm on 5/17/25. There was nobody there. We walked in and no customers, no workers, nobody. I checked the bathroom and called for someone from in back but there wasn't anyone there. The back door was open also. After waiting about 5 minutes, we walked out. I drove around back just to check and there was someone sitting in a vehicle close to the back door but not sure if they worked there.
The food on the line looked like it had been there for awhile because some of it looked very dry (Kind of glad we didn't eat there).
It is sad because I had always liked the place but not sure if I want to go back now.

We tried this place for the first time today. My husband had a medical procedure in Bakersfield today, so we went for take out as a treat, so we wouldn't have to cook tonight.
We had several dishes.
Fried Rice: Dry, tasteless. Veggies tasted like they had freezer burn.
Chow Mein: Dry, very little veggies, very little flavor.
Teriyaki Chicken: SO DRY, very little flavor.
Pot Stickers: SO DRY, and way overcooked.
Orange Chicken: Very little flavor.
Broccoli Beef: Dry, very little flavor, hardly any beef.
Butter Shrimp: Very little flavor.
Spicy Shrimp: First of all, we had no idea they would come in the shell, with the head and legs attached. Secondly, not spicy, very little flavor.
All in all, it was just bad! If I were to rate them on a scale of, 1-10, I would give them a -1.
Small portions, way over priced.
Although the atmosphere was ok and typical and the service was good, staff friendly, the food just does not make the mark.
We definitely will NOT be back.

This place used to be so good. But as I sit here and watch them make my plates, the serving sizes have lessened so much. I'm seeing a few trays of food that look like it's been sitting all day. The "sauce" has dried up. I can honestly say that the quality service of restaurants, fast food, or sit-down places have worsened over the years. Don't think we'll be coming back.
