Hungry Hunter Steakhouse

I went for take out. I had a $100 gift card a client gave me. I ordered the FAMILY STYLE Chicken Picatta. It said it feeds (4). I got garlic mashed potatoes and a green side salad. It came w/(2) squaw bread loaves and butter. While it states Feeds (4), I SAY it’ll feed (8) EASILY!! Just add a bag of salad to the portion they gave you and you have a full meal for under $100 that feeds (8)!! The portions are so big and I had a ton of leftovers because I only fed (3). We ate on it all week!! Good choice and soooo delicious!

First time here and honestly it was amazing. The place is super fancy, even the employees open the door for you when you walk in and when you leave, which was such a nice touch. We were seated pretty fast too. Our server, Jaime, was phenomenal. Super attentive without being annoying, and he gave some great recommendations. They bring out warm, soft bread with butter to start, which was so good.For our appetizer, we got the combo with potato skins, crab stuffed mushrooms, and calamari with a delicious sauce. We both ordered clam chowder, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had.
My hubby got the porterhouse with fries, onion rings, and a peppercorn sauce on the side, everything was delicious 🤤. I ordered the porterhouse as well with red-skin mashed potatoes and breaded green beans, and it was perfect.To finish it all off, hubby got the pumpkin crisp with ice cream and it was to die for. Definitely the whole experience was a 10/10⭐️

of course food was excellent we had a big party of 12 and every steak was cooked perfect and order was to the T the food was great but the service was beyond anything I could ever ask for we had made a mistake on our end on how many guest and they still accommodated we were talking about missing out bowling reservation and without hesitation he made sure we made it i couldn't remember any names unfortunately but it was a male server outside helping us and a lady manger highly recommend for the A+ service alone hands down some of the best iv had

Better alternative to corporate steakhouse chains. Beef quality is the same, if not better. Service is more personal, and the staff is more involved with your needs. Only in recent months there has been some slight disappointment with their popular weekend Prime Rib Roast. The tenderness has been certainly less than good. The lower quality shows with the toughness in the meat even when served a rare piece. I hope management isn't doing cost cutting in the wrong ways.

We were extremely lucky we were passing through this place at happy hour! Otherwise there was no way we could have afforded their regular meals but we got the half price bar food happy hour specials and everything was delicious and it was 40 bucks instead of near 100.
Popular places though... Must have loyal locals... definitely out of our budget but we gave it 5 stars.

Very nice place, beautiful. The porterhouse steak was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. The fried greenbeans were a great match. I enjoyed the Hunters Punch cocktail and the carrot cake was very good, and huge! The service was polite and efficient. I pigged out and took half of it home, so it was actually 2 full meals for me.. a most excellent deal. I will definitely be back again. 5 stars.

Impressed by the level of service, above and beyond what was expected!
Food was great.
I ordered:
- Loaded potato skins (quite good)
- Filet mignon 10oz (cooked to perfection with good side of garlic redskin potato and deep fried green beans)
- Cheese cake (very nice cheese cake with a little crunch from the nut-topping)

Traveling through Bakersfield we were very surprised by the wonderful dining experience at Hungry Hunter Steakhouse. We made reservations 2 hours prior to arrival.

We ordered the table side salad, Cesar salad, and blackened Cajun ribeye and all was excellent!!

The worst service too start!
No consideration for comfort.
3pm tables still dirty. Asked for a seat away from the 12 person party. They would not oblige.
We went across the street to Black Angus and was greeted warmly and give immediate attention and taken care of to satisfaction.
Hunter steakhouse over priced, under staffed and not worthy of my business!
Worst hospitality I. Bakersfield.
I am. San Diegan in town for business and will never consider this establishment again , in town or out of town.

We stopped in on the way through Bakersfield and we were shocked. Food was amazing. Service from our waiter was better than some white table cloth restaurants. Never had to ask for anything. All our needs were met before we even thought about it. I would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone. Try and get the early bird dinner as it is a significant discount from the regular price but for the same food and service.

Off the charts DELICIOUS! It's been 30 years since our last visit. (We don't live in town.) It's always been a perfect dining destination. It won't be another 30 years.
