La Costa Mariscos at Riverwalk

We visited La Costa Mariscos and overall had a pleasant experience at first. The food was good, especially the steak fajitas, and the drinks were enjoyable as well. The live music was a lovely surprise; the gentleman playing guitar and singing romantic songs really added a sweet, charming atmosphere to our evening.
The service itself wasn’t bad, but I was expecting it to be faster and a bit more attentive. Even so, the good food and music initially made us consider giving the place a second chance.
However, after our visit, I decided to give them my feedback so I read more customer reviews and came across several comments from other guests mentioning sightings of roaches. Finding multiple reviews with similar concerns is very unsettling and disappointing. Because of that, we’ve decided not to give the restaurant a second opportunity. Cleanliness is extremely important, and it’s unfortunate to see repeated complaints about this issue.
I hope the restaurant addresses these concerns, because the food and atmosphere have a lot of potential—but cleanliness and proper maintenance are non-negotiable for us!

Waited 15 minutes for someone to come and take our order. Ordered an alcoholic drink and they never brought it. Fir this the service gets 1 star

Drinks were amazing. Food was so disappointing. Watery salsa. Unseasoned meat. Serve was ok. I went to the restroom to wash my hands. Waitress had water along with chip and salsa while no one was present at my table. Clearly that a No for me because who touch and watched it while I was not present..

I am almost 80 years old and using a cane to get around. My husband and I went to la costa today, our favorite place to eat, and when we came in I saw a booth that was almost clean. The guy at the front desk said something to us, I was in a hurry to sit down so I pointed to the booth and sat down. He came up and told us in a rude manner that we were supposed to wait to be seated. He and my husband started arguing and he told they would not serve us. He told the servers in that area to ignore us. My husband asked to see the manager and he said that was his dad. We have been faithful customers for years and now I don't feel like we can ever go back in there. Sad how 1bad employee can do that!

My son and I ate here around June the 4th. He ordered the seabass fish. As a lover of seafood, he noticed right away the texture was off. He said it didn't taste good.
He then did something he never does, he didn't finish it. He took it home and threw it out. Later, that evening he began to vomit violently. He also had diarrhea. To this day 6/8, he isn’t much better. He's heading to the VA tomorrow for testing. I'm writing this review in case anyone experienced the same thing. That fish couldn't have been fresh. My son is a Sushi Chef, we know our seafood. Once we receive the results of the medical testing, we may re visit this matter and take appropriate action.
