With Maggie's preparing to go out of business, we tried it. It was 11-ish on a Saturday. I also know that criticism is extremely hard when people work hard. This is our experience. We arrived, and had to seat ourselves, after about 10 minutes we received waters, and saw four other tables come in; and the waitress take orders and deliver their food. Ours was lost in cyberland. The waitress appeared to be the only person at the front of house, the cook to be the only person. Should the owners open another restaurant, remember train your servers well. No pictures as we never got to the table.

The food is a 5. The service was a little slow, but the people were very nice. The mexican breakfast menu was fantastic. I had gone in thinking I would get country fried steak, but they had some things that I didn't have back home like a chile relleno omelette. It was so good! My fiancé ordered chile verde omelette. Fire!

The servers are very friendly and helpful. The french toast was blank. The eggs and hashbrown are cooked well. The club sandwich was very good but the fries tasted like frying oilPortions are

After leaving Lowe's, we were getting hungry. Driving East of Rosedale we saw a little diner, behind Black Angus. As you walk in, it is a quaint little place. It took a min to sit, due to the restaurant being full, so it was understandable. But after getting seated, the waitresses were attentive and very pleasant. I ordered the Chicken fried steak and the wife ordered French toast. Both were delicious. The chicken fried steak was moist with a a good batter, the gravy accented it very well. It comes with hash browns or country potatoes, and 2-eggs, and either toast (your choice of bread) I ordered Sourdough toast) or biscuit and gravy. I did remember to snap a pic before devouring it. lol. I'll give Maggie's 4 1/2 out of 5. Thank You Maggie's for satisfying my hunger. We will be back.

This is a true hidden gem in Bakersfield! The food is awesome. The eggs are fresh, the pancakes are fluffy and the breakfast potatoes are the best I've ever had! The staff is very friendly and the service is good, but the food is the star of the show. It's located next to highway 99 for easy access and it's well worth the visit. I'll be back.

I’d give it one star but I’d don’t even get to eat the food so I’ll put two and hope the food is better than the service. I was really excited to try a cafe I haven’t been to in town yet. But we got there and there was already a couple waiting then people started piling in and the whole time there was a line out the door and no one acknowledged us at all. I understand when it’s busy but a hello or we will be with you in just a moment would’ve been great. They completely ignored us and everyone else who came in and kept taking orders serving food and cleaning tables. There was only two people FOH from what I saw but an acknowledgement that we were there and waiting would’ve felt welcoming. We left before being seated as we were standing there 10mins with no clue when we’d even be seated.

I'm glad I stopped here for breakfast on my road trip. The California omelette was very delicious with the melted cheese and avocado on top. Believe it or not, the avocado went very well with it. The country potatoes with peppers and onion tasted very yummy. Coffee was fresh.

I gave Maggie's another try. This time they remembered the chili verde. So yummy. It's a lot of food.

Best burger I've had in a while. Fresh, juicy and delicious is an understatement. The sourdough the bacon and cheese all complemented each other and their sweet potato fries are crispy and delicious. I wish I took a pic, I couldn't stop myself. Definitely recommend this establishment. Maggie knows what she's doing, and u can taste it ?

Well , the person who told us to wait , was not real polite , finally was able to get a table , even though they were pretty much no one there , it was simple , but from the get go , it was not good , my wife hyped this place up , so I though , good , yes lets go , nope , coffee was odd tasting , well okay , then my chorizo omelette arrived , chorizo not cooked , hash brown about as thick as 3 pieces of paper , dried out , could have been a frisbee , but the toast was fine, and the best part yet , all 4 of us were not sick , but not feeling well for 3 days afterwards , so Im done , going back to Village grill and this a place I dont need to go back to. Spend my money elsewhere , truth hurts.
