I think this Italian restaurant is the best in Bakersfield for dinner. I like the bar and bartenders The food is very flavorful and the ambience its cute for the downtown area. I only wished that parking lot next door would be open for parking.

The atmosphere is okay, nothing different than any other Italian place in the downtown area. Food tasting wise was great! 8.5/10 but my main issue is the portion size. Don’t come here on an empty stomach because you’re gonna leave with one. And for the price. Forget about it. I wouldn’t recommend people to come here unless you have money to blow.Parking: Parking sucks in downtown all the time. Can’t even find parking after hours. It’s always busy. Sometimes you have to park a couple blocks down from your desired destination.

I was craving Italian food and was out of town for work. I was driving by downtown and stumbled upon Mamma Mia. It was about 5:30pm and it was starting to get crowed (highly recommend to make reservations before showing up). I walked in without a reservation and luckily was seated. The server was so friendly and informative on the menu and drinks. He recommended the dishes and they were beyond delicious. I definitely will be coming back when I'm town. Thank you for the great food and experience!

Love, love, love this place. Food is fresh and good for the soul (duck breast that melts in your mouth). Plenty of gluten free options for us celiacs. And the service, this is what service is supposed to be!
First off, I need to apologize for no pictures. We were starved and I forgot. Arrived for lunch a little after 11am. You walk into the bar and nothing tells you what to do or where to go. I asked the woman working at the bar what we needed to do. She said to go right into the dining room. Walked in. Still nothing telling us what to do. A server noticed us and asked if we wanted a table. We were seated and checked out the menu. My friend was hoping they had a good steak. He ordered the ribeye with butter garlic spaghetti. I ordered the short rib ravioli and we shared a Mamma Mia salad. Salad was good. Lots of mixed greens with vinaigrette and Gorgonzola cheese and chopped nut dust. I wish there had been more candied nuts on top. We were also served sliced sourdough and butter. Food arrived. It all looked so good! The steak was a perfect medium rare with just enough grilling to make the fat buttery. So good! The butter garlic pasta was a little dry. More butter next time!My ravioli was ok. It was plated nicely. I really didn't like the texture of the short rib filling. It have been puréed so much that it had a kind of baby food texture, but dry. Flavor was good, but that texture was really off putting. I heard the table behind us getting the specials read to them after we had ordered. We weren't told of any specials. I guess we'll ask next time. The menu had other good sounding items on it. I will return for a steak, at least.

Great restraint. Service was outstanding. There were 5 of us and we all got something different. Steaks were great, very tender and great taste. Salmon was fantastic, as was the halibut. Raviolis were outstanding. Definitely will go back. Highly recommend to everyone.
