I’m so sad and disappointed to make this review. Mesa used to be my favorite build-your-own style Mexican restaurant for its quality and freshness. I used to go all the time when they were on the east side and a handful of times to their Olive location. Came today and it will probably be my last time. The place was dirty, flies inside, the food bins were messy and did not look fresh, the guacamole was brown. Service was slow due to being understaffed. I hesitated to eat the nachos I ordered. It’s sad to see this place in the condition that it is. Hopefully they can turn this place around or it may have to close if it continues this direction.

Mesa Grill is a gem in Bakersfield! The food is delicious with generous portions, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. A great spot for a casual meal. Highly recommend!

I hate to write this review , this place does have good food but the experience I had today was abhorrent.
I came in at 4 pm and all the food is bottom of the barrel nothing has been refilled, I ask the worker, lepreshia aka “p” ,the only lady with knotless braids that works there, to have extra toppings bc everything is empty and she gave me very little. She offered to go to the back to get more and she storms off and kicks the door and has major attitude, as I'm leaving I ask for her name and tell her I don't appreciate the attitude as a paying customer , who's there quite often, she starts clapping in my face and raising her voice . I ask for the manager and I'm explaining the situation to the manager and lepreshia comes out and berates me right in front of the manager. "P" continues to interrupt the conversation until she decided to finally get back to work.
Nothing was done ,no apology or offer to comp the meal.
I've never had this situation at Mesa, which I come to often, and will not be coming back ever again.
Completely unacceptable.

Between the pricing, quality, and customer service, unfortunately, Mesa always finds a way to let me down. I don't understand how this place stays in business with how many better options we have locally.
I have been going to Mesa Grill for many years and have never had a problem. Since they’ve opened up the drive-through for convenience, I’ve used it more times than going in. Well today I went through the drive-through and ordered my bowl and drove off. I eat my lunch in my vehicle. When I got to a spot to pull over and eat I noticed there was no silverware nor napkins. At this point I was already 15 minutes away from their location. I called and explained I was just in the drive-through and I did not receive any silverware. She replied “we don’t give out silverware you have to ask for it.” Wait, what when you go through a drive-through and order food you always get silverware so you can eat your food I was confused. She said you’re welcome to come back and I can give you silverware. I told her no thanks I’m i’m in a different location. Needless to say I didn’t get to eat my food for another 40 minutes and by then it was cold. Sadly, I will not be returning.

I am normally a regular at this establishment. But today was the worst experience. I placed my order thru the drive thru and everything was perfect. Upon paying for my order, I double checked and realized I didn’t receive the extra sour cream and cilantro dressing I had asked. As I tried to get the attention of the team member, he simply ignored me. That team member made physical eye contact with me twice and proceeded to continue his conversation with the other team member. I waited a good 5 minutes before calling it quits. If this management hires and condones this type of conduct from their team members, they will simply lose all their guests. Completely unacceptable!
