Old River Grill at the Marketplace

We waited aprox. 2 hrs, Cindi is our server. She's friendly, patient and very upbeat. I ordered the Bourbon Street omelette it a Louisiana style omelette. Hubby got the Kern killer omelette.
My son ordered Korean Belgium, chicken and waffles Daughter in law ordered bacon, hashbrowns, biscuits, and gravy, and it look awesome too.
Everything is delicious and looks appealing to the eyes. The ambience is average nice rock 'n' roll music playing in the background restaurant clean and servers are all clean and well grown.

Food was excellent and our server Autumn was wonderful.

My very first time here but my son's 10+ time eating here and not a disappointment at all. Amazing staff and atmosphere for sure.

Usually have a good experience here. Service was extremely behind today. Waited about an hour for the food maybe a bit longer. Got here about 10 didn’t get my food til about 11:45. Lots of flys hovering around our table.

The Bourbon Street Omelette was 10/10. The Cajun cream sauce on it had a nice kick of heat, with lots of flavor. The restaurant has a relaxed diner vibe. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth eating here.

My mother and I waited 15 minutes just to get a coffee and hot chocolate. Both the cups had this oil residue in the liquid and the drinks were watered down. We waited an additional 40 minutes to get our food, which tasted like cardboard. The beigents had zero filling inside and they were just crunchy thin pieces of old dough. It was like some bandit scooped out my beigents and let me have the shells. It wasn't even busy. I don't know why they took so long. Maybe some issue with the kitchen?? But the food was garbage and the prices were overpriced for what they were. For example, $18 for two sausage patties and two poached eggs with hashbrowns, like what the heck???

Our waitress was obviously new and incredibly nice, but she forgot like half our order and after being reminded twice about getting a new drink that wasn't in a oily cup, I never got that new drink. She did take off my mother's breakfast, but the price was $45 after and all we got was an order a crepes (with no sides), hot chocolate, coffee, and the beignays???

Everyone sitting next to us had the fattest frowns on their faces, so im assuming they also had a bad experience with our food.

I don't know if they were just having a horrible day in the kitchen or something, but it was not a fun experience there.

This was my first time visiting and I felt VERY VERY well taken care of. Customization was easy. The staff was understanding, helpful and just made the atmosphere welcoming. Making a reservation ahead of time is helpful but even walking in with a small party, the wait isn't long. 900000000000000/10 would recommend.

Old River Grill is one of my favorite spots for breakfast in Bakersfield. I’ve been there multiple times on different occasions and have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the customer service is consistently great. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a sit-down meal, they never miss. Highly recommend.

One of the best food experiences I have had. Service was excellent. Food was delicious and filling. Even had to take some home. I see why this place is so popular. Can’t wait to come back and try other menu items.
